a discussion on the uncollected and cav players on battlegrounds.

when i read "This meant that often it was easier to have a fresh Uncollected account with a Paragon-experienced Summoners cruising through the Victory Track." in the recent post my anger could not be explained.

kabam intentionally screwing over cav and under players, all for the excuse that "hey alts are a thing and the experience will be more" is the lamest excuse for screwing cav players that i have ever seen from kabam. oh and kabam riding on the fact that paragons would not intentionally stay in victory track to farm points is beyond me.

i would rather know i lost due to my knowledge of the game, than lose because a paragon player got matched with me who would in this scenario be cavalier.

and for anybody defending this decision over rewards, think about it like this. if they had the skill and knowledge to beat other players on the same roster level, then the rewards they get are justifiable. why else would the BGs store be based on progression?? its like if you had the skill to beat this months paragon rifts with your 4 stars, then you deserve the rewards. same should be with BGs.

imagine you never played fortnite, hop on a builds match, and all the sudden EVERY match you play you lose because someone cranked 90s on you whos been playing for hundreds of thousands of hours. or imagine you go into a GTA5 online lobby and someone who spent hundreds of thousands of dollars continuelessly beat you up. then you leave and join another lobby, all for another person to do the same.

i saw a post weeks ago, some cav player got to GC in S9. but that was because they waited till last minute and matched players that are of similar roster level. there is no way a cav player can get to GC at this point now that the change is intentional. paragons will guard plat 1 to farm points and the final week will grind GC.

there needs to be a better way.

I just became uncollected and when I was in battlegrounds I could only get to diamond 3, and the paragons and thonebreakers with a roster full of rank 3 six stars destroyed my rank 1 6 stars

Point of inquiry, what is this "guarding plat 1 to farm points"?

How are Cav and UC being screwed over? The system they had been using gives easier matches for them until Platinum, at which point they then face open matchmaking and often got roadblocked there.

With regards to farming, you are forgetting two major pieces. Last season had much more farming than normal because of the extra rewards. Additionally, to intentionally farming points requires losing enough matches as well to not move on, normally by tanking on purpose. That means some people get free wins from them; it just might not be you

Wins that they may never have got had the person not tanked*

Everyone is butt hurt about the farming thing but I doubt it'll even be a major player in there from this season onward

Many Cav accounts will still make it to GC. Maybe not beginning Cav accounts. Progression level is not indicative of success in BG. There are many stacked cavs with 4m accounts, multiple r4s that do quite well for themselves. Cav in name only because they lack desire to defeat GM or haven’t played story mode in years.

BGs is a competitive game mode, meaning you’re going to at some point fight against someone stronger than you in account strength, skill, or both. You can’t always expect to have a free ride up to the top without facing the big boys

Just farm points til you get your alliances mins, then push for as high as you can go. Once you hit a road block, wait for next season. Collect your rewards make your rank ups, and get better. Rinse and repeat.

That's the part that I take issue with. Farming Points isn't just a benign way of making quota. When you have a ranking system that interconnects the progress of everyone, skewing the results (for whatever reason) skews many standings. You're passing Players along that didn't earn their Wins and making them easy prey for Players higher up, stonewalling every other Match for easy Points, and moving the results away from a natural progression into an artificial result.
It's not just an easy way of making Milestones. It's a manipulation of the system that affects more than just the people being pecked off. Not to mention the people who are being pecked off and how unfair that is to them.
Months of Roster-dependent intervention and people still haven't learned a thing.
