Will a maxed ascended 5* Aegon be at all worth bringing into Necropolis?

basically what the title says, I have never been able to snag the 6* Aegon, but i have the 5* fully maxed. i have some others like Shuri and Kate who will also work, but since Aegon is supposedly the king of Necro so far, would it at all be worth it to try to scale him up even as a 5*?

    A few people have been saying that Shuri actually saves revives, and that Aegon is only the top option for “blitzing it fast”, whereas Shuri would take longer but safer and more efficient.

    Im in the same boat as you without a 6* Aegon, I didnt think of ascending the 5 star but that would still most likely be a lot worse than a 7 star rank 2 Shuri. I’m also missing Zemo as well so not sure if i can get by with just Shuri and other champs like Kate

    If it makes you feel better, 6* Aegon has been one of my most wanted champs for years, and I finally pulled him like two weeks ago as my 211th champion.

    One of the big things with Necropolis is that you have to be able to deal with a ton of wacky nodes. Aegon should be able to do that regardless of rank, you'll just have less time each fight and be able to do less damage overall, but it's certainly doable with enough revives/units. It'll just cost you more.

    Aegon is a blitz option if you play him as recklessly as a lot of streamers did. He works fine but you do have to ramp him and take him to at least r4 as a 6*. Kate can solo more than half the fights on certain paths. Stryfe is great for one path too. There’s no one path fits all for necro which is nice (other than a ramped Aegon I guess) but you’ll be fine with Shuri/Kate and some others

    I don’t have 6* Ægon but neither 7* Shuri, so I‘m doomed anyway. But not in a rush to do Necropolis, Spring 2024 is fine cause I won’t get another R3 before 100% Act 8 anyway.

    Just finished run last night on alt with 5* aegon. Took 2X-2.5X the revives that my main acct 6* max ascended. Zero need for pots and just using 40% revives kept the courage mastery damage up. Heimdall a must IMO. Fury was a waste. Bringing a specific counter for airwalker and nova would be my change. Full team 5* aegon, 5* heimdall, 6* juggs, 6* fury, 6* proxima. Only used aegon and juggs

    I finished necropolis 100% yesterday. It’s expensive enough to use a 6* r5 ascended Aegon. I would not use a 5*. I mean technically it’s possible but hell no.

    Besides Aegon, I used 7* r3 shuri for namor and Attuma. Torch counters diablo and stryfe perfectly.

    I just would not recommend using 5* in this kind of content

    OP I agree witht he below - don't use a 5* - see if you can get the 6* Aegon first. I did my run with a 6r4 aegon unascended and it cost around 90 revives.

    There is hope! What was your average revive cost per run if I may ask? Might be even more relevant to OP if he really tries with a 5*

    Soo completion (path 1) was really not bad, round about 40-60 revives (stash).

    Overall I had a unit cost of 8k-12k. You win some, you lose some. Retroactively, I can say that path 1 is really a breeze in comparison to the others. As said I also used shuri sometimes and torch as well. It’s path depending.

    Edit:
    My team was (path dependent):

    Aegon r5 ascended
    Proxima for synergy
    Heimdall for synergy
    Odin for synergy
    Torch for diablo and stryfe
    Shuri for namor and attuma.

    Sometimes I used shuri randomly in other fights as well and took good chunks of. Aegons raw damage is crazy here
