Gladiator buff

Buff is actually much better than I expected. His damage is insane. He's easily in the top 10 cosmics list for me.

If this buff live? If he’s fixed and good to go I was gonna R2 mine.

So, is he Quicksilver level now?

He’s definitely better than QS in my opinion.

Better, his armor up counter is very useful paired with almost permanent true damage and even evade counter.

The only problem is that his sp1 is bugged and sometimes he whiffs the third hit of the frost breath…

It makes me wonder how they were so far off the mark in their first attempt.

This is an incredible buff for what was actually done: Simply make the kit easier to play for people who are actually interested in playing the game in all kinds of content. It feels “smooth.”

Here’s the best part about it: It does catastrophic damage and is is much easier to access that damage…but the counterbalance is that the kit has no healing and no DOT immunities.

Glass Cannon. Buyer beware. Kit won’t be for everyone.

I think kits like these are so important. It’s certainly awesome to have kits with tremendous utility. Awesome.

But the game itself…I will always believe the game itself is better when a Gladiator kit feels like this. It shouldn’t feel like I am playing Beast or Hawkeye or Daredevil.

If you were on the fence, give it a try — the ramp-up is so much smoother

Hawkeye is a beast, I'm not sure why people are still sleeping on him, especially after that Karatemike Avengers carina challenge. He can actually handle tons of fights

I don’t think that was meant as a dig at Hawkeye so much as a “these characters should feel different to play.”

Gladiator should feel like a runaway freight train and Hawkeye should feel like a precision instrument. Similarly, Daredevil should feel like a boxer in a battle of attrition, and Beast… okay I don’t know how Beast should feel. Fuzzy?
That’s what I meant — it’s not that Hawkeye is bad. For example, I love Bullseye. Same type of feel as Hawkeye. Just a different type of kit to play, and should be

I think, almost every time a character is frustrating right now, it suffers from the problem Gladiator had originally: the timing windows or the ramp-up mechanics are too tight

Do you remember when I wrote about Red Skull originally? It was the same kind of thing

When the kit requires ramping up, the timing windows can’t be too tight — Gladiator was so frustrating because the Intimidate window was so tight originally, plus it wasn’t reliable….it’s really frustrating.

Red Skull was frustrating because you couldn’t get enough Armor Ups. Same concept: It was too tight a process to get them

    Look at them now

I said it when Red Skull’s buff was announced: All they had to do to make that kit work was give him more ability to get the Armor Ups. They did that, and OMG. Red Skull is AMAZING now. I hope everyone knows that by now

I don’t think Gladiator will be for everyone. But it’s so much easier to actually use the kit so if someone actually wants to, they can, but you won’t be able to use it everywhere because anything with a DOT trigger is gonna hurt. That just makes it fair

After you apply the intimidate, dash back and they’re more likely to hold block. Then dash in.

Honestly, the buff is better but definitely not game changing still. I think he still has main issues:
    1) Definitely in need of applying a taunt when throwing an sp1 (at least above 20 confidence) to take advantage of the unstoppable and attacking into the defender’s special. Instead of trying to bait one and take a 5 hit combo to the face.
    2) Immunities to damaging debuffs while his unstoppable is active and attacking into specials. He is already immune to stun, but shouldn’t be taking bleed, shock, etc during the defenders specials since this is his main damage dealing.
    3) game issue, but more reliability with the intimidate instead of having to back up and go back in (which is very inconsistent).

At the current state, I want to love the champ but just can’t. Please Kabam make these updates and he will be amazing!

I don't believe these are required though
