Tactics Have Made the AW Ban System Problematic

If you've played this game for a long time, you remember the days when almost any champ could be used the get through content. Even in the early days, some would be better than others, but for the most part you could get by. These days, the ever-growing number of unique champion abilities and interactions, along with node combinations, and finally alliance war tactics, is creating a situation in which having the right counters, and having those counters ranked up, is an issue. I'm not saying anything everyone here doesn't already know. But I wonder if the alliance war ban system has now become unintentionally problematic on top of it all. Last season, I pulled a 7* Kushala. I was pumped. Finally a tactic attacker worth ranking up. I took her to rank 2. She's been perma-banned ever since. What good is it to have a system in which proper counters are not only ideal but necessary, only to have those counters wind up being banned after you pull and rank them up? Of course Kushala is likely to be ban immune at some point, but it will be just in time for a new tactic that requires new champions to be pulled and ranked up. The ban system was mostly fine before tactics. I think it has now become problematic.

Emma frost is basically my only option and those fights are brutally long.
