Instantly got direct bursted from toad

I entered into the toad fight with a 20% rev to try and finish it out spamming light attacks as the fight started and got 1 hit in and got direct bursted to death. If I had parried I would have just chalked it up to pacify, but I didn’t. So I am very confused if there is some sort of bug going on because I don’t see how this could happen in 1 hit by reading nodes and both champs kits
