Odd way to premote BG to player with the current Gladiator Circuit meta

Just made it to GC... the guy that picked the meta didn't talk to the rest of Kabam who's promoting 10 years of MCOC. I can endure crit-me with a crappy AI. But this? I use my R3 Warlock against a R5A Nick Fury... couldn't even control the power gain, NC did 5 sp1 before I could even throw my first Special... I mean seriously, that supposed to be fun? You want to turn your player base off? You want to kill that game mode? Because it sure look like that.
