Looking Back: My MCOC Journey

It was in summer of 2016 I found out this game on my favourite movie franchise Marvel, I made my first account then and played for awhile but I got busy with my life, Still used to visit the game now and then.

I remember naive me popping dozens of premium hero crystals for a 4* champion, building my deck to finish Act 5, cursing the collector in 5.2,
also waiting every few weeks to gather enough gold to rank up my champions, still remember my cavalier run afresh (hated that bane node and some specific champions needed for boss fight), glad that I cleared Act 6 after that nerf of 6.2 if I remember correctly.

After the summer of 2018, when I was almost done with my graduation, I dived into MCOC full swing. Those were some of the best times in the game—playing with my favorite champions, enjoying awesome events like the unforgettable Mutant Treasure Island, competing in Platinum-level Alliance Wars, and even leading my own alliance for a while.

Above all, MCOC gave me something invaluable—friends from around the world. A special shout-out to my first alliance, ZOMOA; those buddies are still playing together to this day.

Finally, I want to thank Kabam for creating MCOC and bringing joy to the lives of players like me.

Mcoc life summed up in a meme I stole from someone

Thanks and much love,

If you don't mind me to jump on the bandwagon..

I started playing the fall of 2015. I distinctly.remember trying to get a 4* Venom in the arena. I was having fun, but between server issues, and really not trying to learn the game, by middle of 2016 after playing it casually I dropped off.

I would play it off and on casually by downloading and redownloading it till about the spring of 2021. I was doing long hours at work (I work in group homes with special needs adults) and had a fair bit of downtime due to use not really going anywhere. I discovered the simple act of parrying (seems so silly now) I then started playing it daily, and went from slowly getting Uncollected. Pushed for Cavalier (still remember the knot in my stomach fighting that Sentinel boss).

It was glorious sick day that I finally took on the Grandmaster and after many.. many units and revives got TB. Then I spent a year over prepping to take Paragon and being delightfully surprised at how much fun the Kang fight was. 2 days ago I beat Cerastes and just waiting till banquet with my mitt full of units to get the materials for a second 7r3 to join the big leagues.

I saw the trailer for this game in 2014 and I was soo hyped. Finally a good looking Marvel game I could play. I was in 10th grade back then and I did not have a compatible smartphone. So unfortunately I couldn't play the game on day 1. I used to watch gameplay videos on YouTube and I used to tap and swipe in the air as if I was playing on my phone. Fortunately I did not have to wait a long time to play as my mom gifted me a smartphone in March 2015 and I have been playing ever since. Havent missed a single day since I started playing. This game was always there for me through all my highs and lows. Happy 10th year anniversary Contest of champions. Here's to 10 more years🎉
