It’s Razzlin Dazzlin time Summoners
Welcome to my latest Champion review! Today, we’re cranking up the volume and stepping into the spotlight with Dazzler, the luminous mutant who transforms sound into pure energy. With her unparalleled ability to light up the battlefield, she combines smooth utility with explosive bursts of damage that leave her opponents seeing stars. Whether she’s grooving to the beat or standing her ground, Dazzler proves she’s more than just a performer—she’s a showstopper in the Contest. Let’s dive in and discover where she truly dazzles!
Origins and Animations
Dazzler, also known as Alison Blaire, is a mutant and performer like no other. Born with the extraordinary ability to transmute sound into light and energy, Alison initially sought to use her powers to achieve stardom as a singer and entertainer. Despite her aspirations to stay out of the spotlight of mutant conflicts, her powers often drew her into battles alongside the X-Men and other Marvel heroes.
Her signature blend of charisma, resilience, and sheer power earned her a place as a hero in her own right. Whether dazzling crowds on stage or overpowering enemies in combat, Dazzler’s journey is a testament to her ability to shine, no matter the odds.
Dazzler doesn’t just fight; she performs. She skates into battle with unmatched style, her every move radiating rhythm and energy. From her dynamic skating entrance to her fluid combat movements, her animations reflect her life as a performer and mutant hero. Her Dazzling Dash is a standout, combining grace with power as she zips across the battlefield, leaving her opponents faltering or stunned. During her Special Attacks, she unleashes vibrant beams of light and energy, perfectly timed with rhythmic sound effects that make her fights feel like a concert in motion. Her Special 3 is the ultimate showstopper, turning up the lights and Tempo as she performs a high-energy finisher that leaves her enemies dazzled and disoriented. With her skating-inspired movements and stage-worthy abilities, Dazzler truly embodies the spirit of a performer who thrives under the spotlight.
Damage: 9/10
Dazzler’s damage output is highly optimized for shorter health pools, making her a powerhouse in scenarios like questing, arenas, and fights against mid-tier opponents. Her Tempo mechanic is the key to unlocking her explosive potential, and even something as simple as tapping the screen in rhythm (similar to Spider Punk) during her Special Attacks builds Tempo, which amplifies her damage further. Special 2 is her main damage dealer, generating Fury, Precision, Prowess and Resonate buffs and additional damage scaling based on Tempo stacks, with the final hit being a guaranteed critical hit. Special 1 is used to ramp up the Tempo stacks and to place the energy vulnerability. If the opponent is under Energy Vulnerability, the attack becomes Unblockable, allowing her to bypass defensive mechanics. The Dazzling Dash adds burst energy damage per Tempo stack, which synergizes perfectly with her aggressive playstyle and encourages consistent Tempo building. While her kit shines brightest in shorter engagements, her Special 3 can extend her effectiveness in longer fights by doubling Tempo gains and unlocking the potential for massive Special 2 crit finishers
Utility: 7/10
Dazzler isn’t just about damage; her utility makes her a versatile and disruptive force in the Contest. From bypassing defensive mechanics to countering evasion, she brings a unique toolkit that sets her apart: For starters, Dazzler doesn’t benefit from the Dexterity Mastery but compensates with a built-in dodge mechanic that is separate from Dexterity.. Dodging back makes her immune to attacks during the animation and builds 1 Tempo for each Special Attack hit dodged, maintaining her flow and Tempo momentum. But not only that, her not relying on Dexterity helps her avoid attacks that disable the mastery, such as Serpent’s specials when he has True Focus, Photon when in Pure Light form, Jabari Panther while in Huntress mode and Heimdall’s specials when he has True strike. Another mastery she ignores completely is Stand Your Ground which is useful as she lands heavy attacks.
She is Immune to Nullify, ensuring her buffs remain intact against mystic champions, however she is not immune to Stagger or other mystic effects. For non-tech champions, Critical Damage Rating is set to zero and cannot be increased, which makes it harder for them to take her down. With 10 Tempo, by dashing in, Dazzler can activate her Dazzling Dash, inflicting a Falter Passive (1.2 seconds) on the opponent when dashing forward from outside striking distance. If her attack is blocked, she applies a Stun Passive instead, giving her control over the fight. When awakened, Dazzler’s Dazzling Dash grants a Pursuit Passive, first seen on Prowler, that lasts up to 10 seconds, which makes her a natural counter to Evade-based champions like Bullseye, allowing her to maintain her aggressive playstyle without disruption. Dazzler’s utility shines in matchups against mystic champions, skill champions, evade-reliant opponents, and those who rely on Critical Damage or defensive masteries like Stand Your Ground. She’s built to disrupt, dazzle, and dominate.
Signature Ability: 8/10
Her Signature ability enhances her resilience and offensive potential, making her even more dangerous when fully awakened. Firstly, while performing her attacks, Dazzler takes no physical damage and reflects up to 200% of physical damage back at her opponent as a burst of energy damage. This means any physical damage she takes during her attacks won’t weaken her—it’ll be sent right back at her attacker, representing her mutant power to convert sound into light energy. And as mentioned earlier, when activating her Dazzling Dash, she gains a Pursuit Passive for up to 10 seconds, which ensures she stays on top of opponents who rely on evading. This makes her a counter to champions who try to avoid hits, maintaining her offensive flow without losing the tempo advantage. Her Signature Ability turns Dazzler into a tougher, more aggressive champion, reflecting damage and staying aggressive through the Pursuit Passive, ensuring she can keep up the tempo in every fight.
Strengths
Dazzler’s diverse toolkit allows her to shine in a wide range of matchups, making her a formidable asset in many situations. Dazzler’s ability to bypass defensive mechanics like Stand Your Ground and her Falter mechanic makes her a top contender against Skill champions. Her unblockable Special 2 can effortlessly break through champions’ defenses, making her excellent at handling even the most evasive foes. In addition, she doesn’t rely on debuffs, leaving Skill defenders with no debuffs to purify, and she completely avoids thorns matchups like Korg, Killmonger and Attuma if duped. Besides the skill class, she can tackle a broad range of matchups, including Photon (due to her dodge), Sasquatch, Maestro, Onslaught, Ebony Maw even Red Skull and Shuri, due to her ability to negate their defensive mechanics and ability to counter them. She can also phase through specials using her Dazzling Dash. Apoc’s sp1, P2099’s sp1 and sp2, Darkhawk’s sp1, there are plenty examples of how Dazzler can use her falter to her advantage by causing these specials to miss instead.
Weaknesses
While Dazzler excels in many areas, her toolkit isn’t without its weaknesses. Dazzler deals primarily energy damage, which can be countered by champions with energy resistance or those that reduce energy damage dealt such as Bishop and Havok. If Dazzler suffers from the Cowardice debuff, her Special 2’s buffs won’t trigger, which significantly reduces her potential damage output. This debuff can be a serious hindrance in longer fights, especially when playing against champions who apply Cowardice regularly such as Nimrod. While she is immune to Nullify, Stagger and Neutralize can shut down her buffs, disrupting her ability to stack Fury, Resonate, Prowess, and Precision. This makes her vulnerable to champions that apply these debuffs consistently, requiring her to avoid these matchups whenever necessary. She also lacks common immunities to other forms of DOT such as shock and incinerate which can be problematic in some areas of the Contest such as Alliance War.
Conclusion
Dazzler dazzles in the Contest with her unique blend of utility, damage, and style. With her Tempo-based damage scaling, she excels at delivering high burst damage while disrupting opponents with abilities like Falter and her Unblockable Special 2. Her Signature Ability makes her more resilient, reflecting physical damage and allowing her to keep up the pressure against evaders.
While she thrives in many matchups, Dazzler’s reliance on energy damage and vulnerability to Cowardice, Stagger, and Neutralize can present challenges in certain fights. However, with the right strategy, she can conquer most opponents, especially those with shorter health pools or those who rely on evasive maneuvers. Overall, Dazzler is a simple but highly versatile champion, capable of slaying a broad range of foes while keeping battles fast-paced and flashy. If you like champions who thrive on rhythm, aggressive gameplay, and dazzling damage, she’s definitely one to add to your roster!

@EdisonLaw don’t mind me though, PLEASE keep up the awesome reviews!
Got 3 stars Dazzler yesterday, not strong as Enchantress on BG, but its amazing how to get perfect when launch Sp.1 ,you need to press in the right moment.
This reminded me of Dance Dance Revolution, where you need to pick the arrow as it passes on the line.
But, Viv Vision have this on her Sp.2 too... So im a bit confused if this can be really considered a new thing
👍
