Been playing 2 years and still a n00b! Need help

I've been playing for almost 2 years and ranking up characters. I am literally just pushing buttons with no strategy on every screen. I see many players on here with less developed characters than mine cruising through boards because they actually know what they're doing. I just need some help. Any advice on how to get back to basics and learn how to do something other than Button Mash?

YouTube will have everything for you!!
You learn everything you need: how to fight, bait, intercept..........
All you got to do is watch and practice!!!!

Practice, practice, practice. I found the best place to do so is arena. While your grinding for a champ. It helps you learn the moves and skill sets of all champs so you know how to use them and what to avoid when playing against them. You tube also has a wealth of knowledge.

Thanks. I play a lot of Arena but I don't really seem to be learning much of the strategy. There seems to be a lot to why you choose certain fighters. Perhaps. YouTube will helo with that.

That's a long time to button mash bro.

I button mashed for 2 weeks and realized that this is not working. Got on youtube to learn the basics, so I guess that is where you should go as well.
    Watch Seatin or Dork Lessons.

Try to learn the abilities and move sets of as many champions as you can, particularly the ones you have/use most. I think knowledge is the biggest game changer there is with mcoc. If you know what your champs are capable of and you know the weaknesses of your opponent you’re at an immediate advantage. That way you can pick a champ from your team who’s better equipped to deal with your opponent (sometimes that can mean putting yourself at a class disadvantage). Of course Masteries and fighting skill are incredibly important too. ROL winter soldier is a great practice ground imo. Really high health so you can experiment with your champs to see what you can do and practice parry timing/baiting/intercepting. When you get comfortable with that, arena, general questing or attempting to KO ROL WS is a good step forward.
