That being said it is my favorite game I’ve ever played on a phone or iPad. I believe that one of the biggest advantages of the game (before you stopped allowing it to happen) was being able to sell your extra champions for whatever reason you may have wanted to do so. So my question is this why was it stopped in the first place and is there any way that we could get it back going?

"Ever hear the expression “penny wise, pound foolish”. It’s a waste of resources to sell the champs because of the shards and ISO you get for duping them.
When you could sell champs you received maybe the equivalent of 2 dupes (I may be wrong on the amount) in shards plus some gold and ISO. Meaning that once you duped a champ twice, every subsequent dupe was a net gain of shards. Even more so once your champ is max sig.
Not to mention a huge ISO boost for 4* dupes and above. Every big account got there because they have a huge roster, many of which are champs at max sig, where nearly every Crystal opened earns shards. It’s like getting interest on your champs. The economy around building your account heavily relies on the dupe system. Selling champs significantly impedes account progress.
Coupled with the fact that Kabam occasionally releases content that is gated to specific champs and rarities, Kabam likely changed the system to avoid people whining about how it was unfair they couldn’t do content because they sold their champs."
