When will Dark Phoenix be a playable Champion?

So far she’s an npc boss battle similar to other bosses like Collector and Grandmaster, but she is cosmic. With the release of the Phoenix buff soon, when will we get a playable Dark Phoenix

    I am hoping it’s a new kit as well. The Dark Phoenix lacks moral restraints compared to the Green Phoenix

    Yeah like back in 2016 it was weird fighting dark phoenix when the kit and everything was the same so i hope this time we fight her there 2 different kits

    Why would they "bother" to answer your completely speculative question about when or whether a champion would be added. When have they EVER done that?

    As for the answer to the question, I feel like with such a large focus right now on a NEW Jean Grey and a BUFFED Phoenix and Cyclops, there are likely ZERO plans for Dark Phoenix to enter the fray. And even if they *were* thinking about it, the last thing they'd do is announce it or have it come out so close to this current Saga because people are wanting to spend their time and energy and in some cases money to chase Phoenix.

    Adding a Dark Phoenix would completely dilute the excitement and as a result less people would play or spend to try to get "green" Phoenix.

    Releasing Dark Phoenix this year is at the very least highly illogical. It would have been logical closer to the saga, but they're making her a boss for a special quest in May, so

    Dark phoenix was just a skin on the regular ol' phoenix. Ice Phoenix was a skin of iceman + phoenix.

    If she's ever going to come, let her have a new design and abilities.

    Thats what i want for a powerful being having it same kit was strange but now hopefully when we get the quest she does have different abilities

    Maybe she will be chase champion. I'm sure some will say we don't need a "Phoenix variant", but I'm sure if and when they add her she could have a unique kit distinct from OG Phoenix.

    She won't be a Chase variant. We already have Phoenix for this saga. There will obviously not be another Phoenix theme in the subsequent sagas, so these are completely unrelated things.
