AW changes - master alliance POV

Dear Kabam team,

This post is about upcoming war changes.

Our alliance competes at a high level (top 10/ podium master) and every time war saga changes we properly prepare to have everything covered. People are always really excited about war and saga changes

For this season for example we did r4 defenders and attackers, had several rankup options ready in case of possible bans.

We have some (not all but some for sure) of the most talented players in this game here and they love war and the variety and the challenge it brings. People invest in new champs, new rankups, it’s fun because it’s always different.

The most common comment here when season 58 war changes were announced were that it’s “another raids” and “boring”

This new war update will lead to the following:
1. Tier 1 players will lose interest in war for this season
2. Rankups will be cut by half, some will not have to rank up a single attacker or defender - so no need to invest in the Fire of Heart event for example (limited defense and attack = no need to spend much or at all)
3. Continued lack of competitive war will lead to players quitting the game altogether. Many keep playing only because war exists, the rest of the content is secondary (they do quests and get offers and do BGs to get resources for war, not the other way around).

If the idea was to attract new players into playing war, Everest level health and timing out on fights won’t do it. Plus these new war participants won’t experience the main part of being in war with an alliance which is all about teamwork, planning and coordination. There is no need to coordinate anything when everyone has one fight

So while this has been announced and changes aren’t likely to be made please consider:

1. Let tier 1 alliances do war on the old map.l with 50 fights / bans / tactic. Tier 1 players are invested in war, there is no need to introduce them to war. They love the challenge of bans and planning good counters and doing new rankups and unpredictable results.

2. Keep this season as one time experiment only - war showcase can do the same job of introducing new players to war, there is no need to change regular war seasons for it

3. Lower the health of defense to a manageable level that can be done even without node boost. Alliances with any decent knowledge of war defense will make sure to place defense in a way that you can’t benefit from the node boost making a timeout or multiple timeouts guaranteed. No one will enjoy it and decide they want to do it season after season.

In brief, in order to introduce new players to war please try to avoid creating the impression that it’s a no coordination Everest level health multiple timeout game mode. War is not about that at all, it’s about teamwork and talent.

Let tier 1 alliances do their regular planning and rankup season, they won’t appreciate raids 2.0 instead of war at all. So far no one in our alliance or anyone we know in other high level war alliances spoke about these changes favorably

Right, aw is jut fine and interesting, the reason only very few players like it is because
    1) potion is too expensive
    2) platinum/gold rewards are really bad

Why most ppl play aq even it’s boring? Because rewards is fine and it’s cheap to play
Aw is still the most interesting and challenging mode, but it’s too expensive for most players and rewards are horrible except for master alliances

Why fix something that isn’t a problem? What really needs to be addressed are the rewards and potion prices.

Can some YouTuber speak up and give feedback? There are still AW potion promos, but not like before, there used to be promos at the start of the season, which really helped. These last two seasons have been especially tough, and over that time, I’ve gone from a few million loyalty to almost zero. AW itself is fine, but the potion prices need to be lowered or at least have more frequent promos. The game should be competitive and enjoyable, not a constant grind like this. And please stop changing things that are already good,I actually enjoy AW. Even though the rewards aren’t amazing, they’re acceptable. AQ, on the other hand, feels boring,I only play it because of the rewards.

It is the worst idea I've ever seen in the game.

The new war does look like another version of RAID, it does make any sense.
Kabam please check rewards of potion price of the original war, those are the things you should fix, instead of creating a new system.

Well, I'm ok if the new system is just an addition other than a replacement.

It's proven that Kabam will continue to make random ass modes out of AW AQ just so that they can delay buffing the rewards for one more month.

They just need to make all AW boosts and potions completely free to even the playing field. It makes sense why those things aren't free for solo content, but you shouldn't be able to pay for advantages in competitive content.
