I’m confused. This content is awesome. Why are people complaining? It’s not hard at all lol
The content may be hard for other players even if it isn't hard for you. You may be more skilled than many of the players. I have found it to be very difficult. I got through Sector 6, then died to the Heimdall boss in Sector 7 - he seemed to be perpetually unstoppable. For me, it is a terrible grind of an event. Your perspective is obviously different. That's okay. It's clear many people are enjoying the event and many people are not enjoying it.
After about zone 3, I couldn't activate any fight abilities. Most were greyed out and those that were not greyed out wouldn't activate. There must be a limit to the number of pre fight abilities Steve can have active, and I must have picked the wrong ones. Bummer
The pre-fights are permanent. You can activate 3 instances of each, so they stack on top of each other and, again, are permanent, so they are always there and you don't need to activate them again once you've activated all of them. You can also only activate each one once per fight, so it takes time to activate all of them three times
the prefights are related to his persistent charges, which you can see on the fight/matchup screen. He starts with 21 and then as other pointed out, you can pick certain fights in certain zones to earn a bunch more.
NOTE — it’s not obvious which fights will give you bonus charges, but the zones are listed on the event write up on the MCOC site. You just have to click into the fights and you’ll see the bonus listed with all the other nodes on the fight.
General advice, take all the hacks (regular incursion hacks) related to fury and prowess. Spread your prefights around until you have a mix of offensive and utility abilities active, then max out the offensive ones and finally the utility ones.
From the boss hacks, I prioritized the permanent grit, true strike and reverse control immunity. Because I have found over time that unstoppable, miss (hello, tunnel vision) and delirium are the nodes that will mess you up the most.
First off I want to say I loved this content. It’s the best thing the game hs done in a while. The whole thing is about setting up your little Steve. I focused a lot on hacks that gave me immunities, health and regen. Also the leech prefight is the first one I focused on because you can control the opponents power. It really makes you plan and think ahead when you set up your Symbiote.
This is not really a progression dependent event beyond having a 3 star roster. I used Venom and VTD for synergy. The first zone can be challenging, especially if you face a Knull as the boss, I would just back out and wait for an Agent Venom who is much easier to handle.
Persistent charges are awarded by certain nodes, you have to check all of them to get them quickly, not every path awards the same amount and not every zone gives persistent charges, so do not power through zones without reading nodes. If you miss a few persistent charge nodes, it's not the end of the world, the event rewards more persistent charges than are needed to max out Steve. But it would benefit you to unlock all the prefights as quickly as you can. Prefights last the entire run and stack. Once you unlock all the prefights obviously no need to get additional persistent charges.
For hacks, I went for the ones benefitting fury first, I also got the one that makes you immune to reverse controls early in case of Knull bosses. I also got the one for bleed and position immunity relatively early too, for biohazard and caltrop nodes. Eventually got the one to lengthen stuns which was helpful. Once you get past zones 10-15 you should be really cruising. The regen, the power steal, the stuns, and damage should make this event easy, just becomes a boring grind at that point.
Again, this does not appear to be a very skill intensive event, just need basic survival until Steve goes god tier.
Thank you for this info. I'll give it another shot.
How are you immortal??? I was in zone 10 and getting killed from 2 or 3 hits. Also the regen is horrible. I had 10 incursion revives saved up and only got to zone 12 with them. I don't understand how anyone is finding this easy when you die to 1 special, or 3 normal hits at just zone 10.
2 revives used for my entire run and that was my fault for not reading the nodes. Piggy’s power sting killed me on specials!
Did you forget to apply your prefights?
The fortitude prefight is very effective for survivability. Combined with the 5-point prefight, it will significantly reduce the damage you take. Fully ramped up, even the "aspect of nightmares" node barely hurts you.
Also, the VtD synergy is key in case you do make the occasional mistake.
Great advice sir! Thank you!
i am not getting any pre fight persistent charges I am running sector 1 and sector 3 I completed zone 1 and zone 4 but I did not got any persistent charge I am using 5 star symbiote supreme and 3 star venom does anyone know why i am not getting persistent charges is it bugged? who do I tell it to solve it?
Looks Like you are in a wrong sector of incursion. This symbiote incursion is between sector 1 and 2 and requirement is maximum 3 start champs. Try the team of 1star steve and other two, three start champs then you will see that particular incursion sector.
You are playing in sector 1, that's why you are not getting any persistent charger. You get charges by defeating particular defender which aren't in sector 1 or 3.
Zones 1-3 are hell
Zone 4 is kinda difficult
Zones 5-30 are a walk in the park
Used VTD and Red Goblin, spent just one revive, on a Spider-Ham boss in zone 3, because I messed up and used a special while power stung
Very fun content in my opinion
