He does have the skills, he doesn't have the proper tools on his F2P account. That is the whole point, so I guess my metaphor was right.
Also the best mechanic in the world would tell you "Sorry I don't have the tools to fix that issue" instead of kicking and crying about not being able to do it and blaming the world.
This thread is just a bait to make people think he has problems on his main account... See people leaving details out to fit their story.
If you have the time you should watch the vid, its funny, he laughed the whole time at his results. I don't see many people laughing here though...weird uh?
You must not know a lot of mechanics. I would say every one of them has one type of car that they won't work on because they hate them. Usually it's Pontiacs. Same thing here, all these mechanics don't want to work on some BS battlegrounds. And the best mechanic in the world would make do with what he had and get the job done. I'm not a mechanic and I can do that (with both cars and this game).
What you are doing is changing the argument to fit your needs, which is whining and crying about people whining and crying. So, now I'm whining and crying about how you are whining and crying about people whining and crying and now you are also whining and crying about my whining and crying. Clear as pie.
I didn't say you whined and cried, if you got that message, well must be cause you are whining and crying.
Conclusion of the metaphor, the story or whatever you wanna call it. If you don't have the right tools you should work on getting them instead of blaming everything else.
The meta was not fun or enjoyable at all, it doesn't mean it was hard.
That's the opposite of the conclusion. People work with what they have and can get the job done. But there are some people (not you, we know you're good, I'm fine, but this, wait for it, isn't about you) that are finding it HARD enough to not be able to do it, when they should be able to.
Real conclusion: some people shouldn't use metaphors when they understand neither the subject of the metaphor nor how to use them.
But they can't get the job done? Matter of fact they should ask themselves why and work on it. I find it hard to believe people would complain about things they can get done...
No one is entitled rewards no matter how hard they try.
The metaphor worked perfectly fine, matter of fact you were able to say the same exact thing. It takes skills and right tools Seatin has both on his main account, the skills remain on his F2P account; but the tools don't.
Anyway OP wanted to use the Seatin vid as an example, why don't we do that? During his whole vid he laughed at not being able to advanced. Why can't all the people complaining just laugh and accept that they were not ready for a season like this instead of raging over the Blade Piece?
I can't agree more. I think we need to look at VT for what it is…participation. Allow people to progress based on number of matches won with no penalty for losses. Move the goal posts in GC to start rewards at 50 or 100 points or whatever they want that bar to be. That way, you still need to win in GC to access GC rewards.
Casual players still have to engage in VT for pieces/rewards/emotes. If they want to try their hand at GC for better rewards, then they'll need to take down bigger, BG-ready accounts. They could even make the metas for VT easier and not so roster dependent.
Each season, placement on VT would be determined by prestige-30. No idea what those tiers would be but something like 10k and below bronze, 10-15k silver and so on. It won't solve the issue of bigger accounts who don't enjoy BG's staying in VT, but at least it wouldn't hurt lower P-30 rosters from progressing.
Doing so by removing the rewards that come from ranking up in VT ? , or do you want the stuff for free what's next ? Every new 7* stellar forged or special champion just for logging in the game ? Bgs exposing ppl that got used to clear everything using large amounts of units and revives and now they can't so instead of playing and getting better let's just create random stuff to complain about bgs because we don't like being reminded that we bad at the game .
Throwing in my 2 cents no one asked for:
I dont think bgs being a partially roster dependant mode is the worst thing ever. We don't have many places in mcoc for that kind of expression. However I think that if bgs is this kind of mode then it is up to kabam to craft and shape the meta and seasons with this in mind in a way that doesn't make it feel disgusting to everyone. Which is something I do feel like theyre genuinely trying to do despite this season's scoring change being the biggest swing and miss in quite a while.
That’s a false equivalence-
As for other VC rewards - we are getting .z essentia. Big whoop. Radiance is still there to chase in GC.
Everyone talking about his experience with the meta, meanwhile I'm over here thinking about how he got 2 'unknown error occurred' mid-match bugs within less than 2 hours of BGs play. That's what's really embarrassing here imo, fix your game Kabam.
His stream proves that it doesn't matter if you have a full deck of rank 4s and a couple rank 5s; If all your champs are not meta, you will always be at a massive disadvantage. This season was especially worse since health remaining no longer can win you games.
Every ranked game has certain meta characters and weapons; however, these items are all free and available for everyone. In mcoc, not only are some champs locked behind pay walls, but you also need to invest so many resources just to take ONE of them to rank 4.
I'm an Elder player who has done and explored every single piece of content except Wheel of Fate, and I have never needed:
Yelena
Spider Woman
Karolina
Sentinel
Enchantress
Okoye
High Evo
Photon
Bullseye
These are all at or below rank 2. I am not going to waste my resources on champs I am never going to use just for a dead, irrelevant mode that serves no purpose except locking behind a chase piece.
seatin broke it all down here and references this thread…
People defending Kabam about this atrocious BG season and the reality of BG chase pieces are just so tiresome. With how many people told Kabam that this meta was a bad idea, it should have been changed.
They are the same types who think anyone worse off than them deserves it. I can easily get to GC in a day and this entire BG season was incredibly poorly thought out. Kabam's hubris in ignoring the concerns is disgusting.
after this "terrible" season of BGs and one of the worst experiences in the game for a lot of players, Kabam should sell Blade's final piece at half price
good luck with the new meta if you hated the last one, fights are taking even more time to end now and way more damage reduction i bet they did it on purpose this time lol ,and btw those 2 metas aren´t even in the top 3 worst metas ever , the people who remember the power gain metas with passive defenders always going to the sp3 can easily tell you that .
I reached the Gladiator Circuit in my main with this non meta deck. I've been using half of it because all the R3s are underleveled and never used them. I didn't had much trouble, but I understand the struggle of Seatin and any player like that.
This Season was miserable for me. No idea how anyone can say it's normal.
I've been thinking of how I would fix BGs and heres what I think
I think they should make the scoring change based on the circumstances.
If one player killed the defender, and the opponent didn’t, they auto-win. You should NOT be able to lose a match if you killed the defender and your opponent didn’t.
If both players kill the defender, score it like normal based on time and HP but lower the HP points from 15k to like 5k.
If neither player kills the opponent its just based on HP and defender HP, UNLESS someone died during the fight, then they auto-lose even if they did enough damage to the defender to win on points. Because… obviously.
As for me, I see nothing but hypocrisy and egoism from Seatin in this video. I generally like him, but this take is super weird.
He is a whale and a long-term player, yet he’s complaining that he couldn't reach GC on a F2P account simply because his skill wasn't up to par? Oh, I am so sorry for poor Seatin.
Guess what? These problems in BGs existed long before he made his video. This mode was designed from the start so that for every winner, there is a loser, and your time investment does not matter at all. Hundreds, thousands of people were unable to progress in this mode long before Seatin failed to do so. Thousands of people have had the same struggles with their match stats for ages, and nobody cared. What did Seatin do about these problems before? How many posts or videos did he make about the state of BGs? Absolutely zero! He only piped up once he couldn't get what he wanted.
Hello, Seatin! Welcome to the real world. You know, there are thousands of people who have struggled with these same problems for a long time, and nobody cared - including you.
So, screw you, Seatin! Honestly, you got what you deserved. You were perfectly happy playing BGs when it didn't affect you, and you didn't do a thing about its problems. So please, keep enjoying the game and "not giving a ****," just like you did before.
I will be absolutely pissed if Kabam now sends him this Blade piece exclusively while ignoring the thousands of other people who also missed it.
I am a pure BGs hater, and I really love seeing this mode die. It is interesting to see how many people who are now making posts or comments about how unenjoyable BGs are were writing the exact opposite on my posts - and other people's posts - a year or two ago.
Rofl
Well if you watched the video. You'd see he was talking mainly about rosters and how skill could compensate for rosters. No idea wtf youre talking about with this comment because his video was pretty much the exact opposite of what you're crying about it being
People tend not to get riled up about stuff until they have a personal experience that gives them a reason to get upset about whatever it might be. Seatin is no different to 99.9% of humanity in that regard. If it’s not BGs it might be the economy or the war in the middle-east. Until there’s a personal impact it’s hard properly relate to what others are experiencing to the extent you feel the need to take action.
This thread turned a lot more amusing that it should be. Holy crash outs Batman!
You hear, but you don't listen. Protogenitals, your picture is nonsense.
What Seatin is saying is almost entirely centered on his own F2P account and his personal experience. While he sprinkles in a few references to other sources and community comments, he spends the vast majority of the video venting about his own inability to push his F2P account.
Let’s be honest: when he was smashing through the Victory Track with that same account last season, he didn't say a single word about BGs being a problem. Back then, it was perfectly fine for him. It’s clear that until the mode became a personal struggle, he didn't care about the community at all. I suggest you rewatch the video with that in mind.
Personally, I think the result he’s facing is actually justified. It shows that necessary factor is important in BGs: the time and effort spent building your account actually matters. If a fresh account can no longer jump in and breeze through VT to the Gladiator Circuit with ease and "cheese" tactics, that is a positive change for the mode. Players who have spent years building their rosters shouldn't be losing to an account that’s only a month old, even if that player is highly skilled. I like that.
I’m not saying I agree with the current state of Battlegrounds - I’m not a fan - but success in this mode shouldn’t rely solely on individual skill. Players should be rewarded for the long-term investment they've made into their accounts, their champion ranks, and their masteries. I really hope Kabam continues to value that investment, though, honestly, I’d be perfectly happy if they just removed this game mode entirely.
Success in a PvP mode should reward investment? ...so it wouldn't be PvP anymore…. Yes its not real time PvP; but you are fighting the other persons investment.
Stop asking for participation pity rewards, you hate it then don't play it instead of trying to ruin it for the rest.
As long as you stay the typical forums troll, and not an administrator or moderator, I don’t give a… listening to you and will proceed saying what I think and asking for what I want.
You don’t have the ability to stop me writing.
You are speaking about PvP. LOL. Have you not realised? BGs has never been a fair PvP. Since every player has different roster, draft RNG and even A.I. behaviour in the fight may be randomly screwed. This is not even a real PvP as we are fighting against AI, not the player. This is PvEP.
I am ruining what? This has never been a complete game mode since a release. Wake up!
Why would a troll want people like you to stop posting?...
I find it fascinating you complain, you cry, you crash out about something you hate doing instead of I don't know, just stop doing it.
I made it clear it wasnt real PvP, its MCoC's version of PvP, I also said stop trying to ruin there is a difference …
I'm not a f2p but I'm not even close to be a big spender (just 40 dollars in 8 years playing) and I was able to reach GC in first week, compared with other metas I found this one more balanced than previous, I probably do 4 or 5 matches per day and it was enough.
I'm not sure why CCP members are so dramatic, probably kabam makes them complain about it just because a little of caos is great to maintain the interest.
I stopped to see those clowns (seatin, legacy, Bero and others) just because their complaints were pretty ridiculous.
