Struggling with gold

Am I the only one struggling with gold.. because for sometime I have not been able to donate any gold and battleships to my alliance.. I get really busy and I'm not able to even do arenas.. I was hoping kabam could bring back the gold quests

Can't even upgrade my 5* champs.. I have to wait for several days before I get enough gols

I think the game right now requires too much arena grinding to be able to rank up a 5 star. They need to come up with alternative reliable ways.
