5 star feature and subfeature drop rate

rwhackrwhack Posts: 1,051 ★★★
I'd like an answer as to why we can't be informed as to the drop rate. I've opened 13 featured and gotten 0 so far. I opened 2 today and got 2 basic heroes. I have 64k in shards left after finishing LOL and I'm ready to quit. Most of the heroes simply aren't useful. Many like SheHulk shouldn't even be in there. It takes forever to get a 5 star and opening her up is disgusting. She is quite simply useless.

Quite honestly given how long it takes to acquire shards pulling a featured should have happened at least once by now if the odds were reasonable.

Simple:
1. What are the odds of pulling a featured?
2. What are the odds of subfeatured?
3. If you don't want to tell us explain they logic behind it.

When you look at the 5 star heroes you can get here are some that no one really wants:
Iron Patriot...just terrible.
You have SIM and Ironman...they are basically the same why put in both?
Hulkbuster...zero fun to use
Ironfist...diminishing returns has made him a bad hero to use/have
90s clops and regular clops....pick one or the other not both
MoonKnight...he's not bad, but no one is gonna r4 him and it depends on the moon if you wanna use him.

In July we get:
Spidey-Gwen

In August we get:
Karama Khan and SheHulk...what a treat!

Instead of adding more heroes how about making some of the ones we have actually useful? I pulled a Storm dupe and 90s clops today going for AA...well, there is no way either them goes to r4. No way I waste an awakening stone on 90s clops.

At this point if I don't pull a featured given how long it takes to get 5 stars to open it's time to quit. I've seen it happen over and over again. The odds are obviously too long but I'd like to know just how bad they are. The subfeatured addition did nothing by the way. No one in our alliance has pulled one yet.

If you have 64k shards left and are thinking of quitting why not open up to 4 more archangel crystals and see if you get him? I got Spider-Man trying for aa but one alliance mate got him and another pulled crossbones and gambit with his two tries.

Yea if you want AA just keep opening them.

I went for Yondu, Opened 4 crystals, first 2 were basic heros, got him on the 3rd and duped on the 4th.

Quite a few in my ally pulled AA today with just the one crystal. It does happen. I would recommend to keep trying if he is really the champ you want.

    Good luck dude

As an aside I got 4* yondu awakened and loved him. Congrats on 5* yondu he's gotta be a total beast!

I think if they just added a count down mechanic to rng based pulls like Phc's the game would be much better. Having a 6 month old account I slave over and only 60k power because rng refuses to help me out is pretty off putting. More so when you see people who started before you and put in half the effort fly by you.

By count down I mean have a guaranteed 4* champion every 100 crystals opened or something. If you get lucky before then great, it resets. If not then you just have to wait a while longer. But at least you know it's coming.

    Crystal shards don't cut it.

Well...I've opened 13 total so far lifetime...0 featured. I opened 2 for AA today and got 2 basic heroes. This is after they "opened it up" for subfeatured. Given how long it takes to build up shards making a drop rate as low as it is is brutal. I'd like to know the drop rate. Based on what I'm seeing it is god awful. It has to be less than a 2% chance. For me if I spend the rest and don't pull a featured it's definitely time to quit. Quitting overall sounds like a decent idea because when we start pulling she-hulk dupes it's time to throw your phone. Whey they put terrible heroes in a 5 star crystal is beyond me.

If you're gonna quit, just open all. If u get your featured, u can continue playing. If not, quit now rather than later....

I'd like to thank the game team and mods for the response. I'm now 0 for 15. Why aren't the pulls related where the more you try the more your odds go up? What makes it so important to have some people go 3 for 6 and others for 0 for 17 that the game is compromised. It's ridiculous how long it takes to get shards and how terrible the distribution is. I really appreciate the insight and the information provided here #sarcasm.

    I repeat:
    Simple:
    1. What are the odds of pulling a featured?
    2. What are the odds of subfeatured?
    3. If you don't want to tell us explain they logic behind it.
    4. What sense does it make for the pulls not to be relational over time when some go 3 for 6 and others go 0 for 17...0 for 17 people tend to quit.

Let me get everyone caught up...0 for 18. Awesome! That makes so much sense. Mad props to the game team and everyone at Kabam for their well thought our responses. This forum is what makes MCOC great.

I have read so many of this type of post, truly concerns me for when iceman comes back. I have not yet gone for a featured champ but I will for iceman. I have 9 five stars with 3 dup. I agree with how long it takes to collect shards I will be extremely disappointed if I don't pull him. Right now I have enough for 2 attempts

Again gentlemen we are talking about a form of gambling! Kabam doesn't want to make it easy. That is how gambling works! And there is no difference her than in a casino! When we bust too many times in a row we grouse and complain and ask for a new deck!

Since we are gambling??? You gotta look at what you are willing to lose...and ultimately...the featured of today is Crystal fodder of tomorrow...

Straight up! Why obsess over a single character? The odds are definitely not in your favor and never will be in your favor! Unless you have the time and the champ power to straight out win him! If not you are only setting yourself up for frustration...and you obviously are...

Rap....there is a big difference between a casino and MCOC. In a casino the return rate of a slot maching is posted and verified. KMike said the drop rate was 20% at one point for a featured. It's not possible for that to be correct. The drop rate at MCOC is constantly manipulated in my opinion. The goal is not to mess over an individual player but the process makes it more likely.

I think you have no idea what you're talking about though. You cannot straight up win a 5 star. I'm also gonna guess you have 2 or less r4 5 stars.

They have stated time and time again that the rng is based on several random factors what those factors r we the player base don't know in the end it's there game if they don't want to disclose and u truly feel scammed don't have to play that's the way it's been since the game came out and they have no real desire to release drop rates

Players say rng just because at this point it's way easier to say random then go into it any further and saves everyone a headache the problem with trying to prove rng is rigged without knowing all the factors is it becomes a fight of it didn't get x champ after 5 tries and someone else did and makes u sound like a kid who cried when not getting there favorite yu give oh card out of a pack when ur friend did
I can promise you ur not going to like any anwser the mod team gives u.

The Drop Rate is not manipulated. Nor did any Mod say that it was 20%. They don't discuss Drop Rates.
The Crystals are chances. Not guarantees. Each Crystal is a chance. The computer generates an outcome based on the RNG, which is determined by Drop Rates, and each separate Crystal is a new outcome generated with specific probabilities. Meaning, if the Drop Rate was 20%, which we don't know for a fact, that doesn't mean 5 Crystals give 100% probability. It means 5 Crystals would have a 20% chance each.
There are no separate or manipulated RNG's. You would have to create individual algorithms for every Player. There is only one Drop Rate per specific Crystal type. Anything else is conspiracy and conjecture.

I believe it's manipulated based on the number of people getting the character or possibly the number of people in your alliance getting that one. I don't believe it's an individual algorithm. That said your post is well written.
