Symbiote Spider-Man L1 changed?

in Bugs and Known Issues
I noticed that a few of the symbiote Spider-Men I faced during the new event quest had their L1 animation mimic that of Spider-Man Classic. Is this change intended? I didn’t see it listed on any of the upcoming changes.
