When my Gold hits zero, I will....

I finished the last gold realm or whatever its name was with 10m gold. I am now at 2m gold. The decline is pretty steady. Let me go through the normal solutions offers and put the rebuttal forward to you.

1. Don't waste gold on useless rank ups:
During this time, I have not ranked up any 4* champ. to r3 or above. I have not ranked up any useless 5* beyond 1/25. I still am looking towards a gold bankruptcy in a few weeks.

2. Arena is the solution to everything:
During this time, I have landed the 1,000 shards from 5-star arena few times, 2,000 shards couple of times and 500 shards on consistent basis. So, I am well in top 25% of arena players. It still didn't increase my net gold.

3. Questing brings Gold:
During this time, I have finished all Heroic to Uncollected quests every time and ran through completion of Normal / Beginner. I did 100% LOL and 100% Act 5. My net gold still didn't increase.

4. Map 6 is draining you of all the gold
We have not run a single Map 6 (unless when it was free of cost)

Now, I know guys who are sitting on mountains of gold and are doing all kinds of rank ups. One guy in my alliance donated gold for the whole alliance couple of weeks back because he had too much of it. But what I have found about them is that they normally go really hard at arena. I am talking about people who consistently finish either winning the champs or on their "off" week, in top 10% bracket.

This is in essence an RPG game despite the appearance of fighting game. And upgrading your characters, weapons, gear , whatever you want to call it is always a blood line for an RPG. If you want to restrict rank ups to 10% of your players base, that is your choice but it will alienate 90% of your player-base. I sat behind the t4cc wall for a year, but it was ok as I was able to still rank up 3* and 4* to a certain level. There was something happening. I can't do that with a gold wall.

So, coming to the topic, When my gold hits zero, I am probably out. I don't see a future in which I will enjoy the game without upgrading anyone.

P.S. The gold crystals are abysmal. And the gold masteries are abysmal-er.

So a person who has been playing the game long enough to have a stacked roster to the point where most of his pulls are dupes is lecturing people about gold and resources. LOL 99% of the player base isn’t any where near that. Your advice is only good for people in a similar situation, which isn’t many. So basically the advice is worthless.

The solutions the clueless are giving all have significant draw backs.

If you conserve gold by not ranking up, you hurt your SA score.

If you drop out of your alliance and go to a Map 3, you hurt your progression

If you grind the arena and hit all of the milestones for a month, you will only get 3M in gold. It cost 3.2M to rank up two 5* champs, forget the other star levels and donations.

They are suggesting everything except that Kabam should make some adjustments to gold allocation rates. Which is all most players are asking for, that’s it.

The point isn’t about players whining about gold shortage. It is already short to begin with.
It isn’t even about lack of avenue to acquire gold, it’s a combination of the current gold quantum and rank up requirements that’s choking players resource.

Did I grind? Sure I did. 45k PVP per annum past 3 years.
Did I cash in my BC on regular basis? Duh...
Did I sell unused materials or expiring ISO? E.v.e.r.y.t.i.m.e.
Did I buy gold crystals occasionally with glory? I really do not wish to end up hanging on life support.
Did I run gold realm when it’s available? Look forward to it all the time
Did I open crystal shards regularly for additional gold? Sure did.
Did I rank up selectively? Sure I did.. I can count with my ten fingers how many 5* rank ups I did in an entire year. I can even count with my nuts how many 4* I did in the same period. Even to R3.
Did I play less resource demanding AQ? Sure I did. AQ5 is free (no)?
Did I play AW actively? Wait... you mean they give you a lot of gold? Millions maybe, no? Hundreds of thousand, perhaps? Still no? (I rest my case)

I have 31M gold 12 months ago, and yet I still end up with 18M as yet yesterday. Maybe (just maybe) I’ve been a poor resource manager.

And guess what? I’m more wary about shortage of ISO in the nearest future. At least I can farm gold. ISO? Pfft....(roll eyes)

I think it’s time I start opening my 7k+ stashed up quest crystal and use those iso lvl1s to lvl up maybe 2 lvls out of 25 of my newly acquired 6 Star.

Wait... lvl up needs gold.. fml....

It simpme really.. again its an issue of nit updating rewards compared with were the gane is going. With the game shifting focus to 5* and 6* wich require alot more gold to rank up..
kabam should increase gold you can earn.
-Give 50 more gold in erena for every fight won.
-Give more gold each time at end of won match
-Lower cost of matchup in arena.

Wrong. I have been focusing on 5 stars for more than a year. I rank 2 per month to rank 3. That is why I have 20 at rank 3 or above. 4 4/55. 1 5/65. And 2 6 stars fully leveled to the first 25 levels ready for rank 2

Yes. I Max out 3*s. There's something called SA. There's also something called Level Up. "He" doesn't ignore the rest of his Roster because something new came along. "He" has a sufficient Roster to hit all the Milestones in multiple Arenas. "He" usually runs 3-5 simultaneously. "He" has the stats to support that. Apparently, "He" does know what he's talking about because "He" never runs out of Gold and Ranks at a consistent pace.

To be fair, if everyone in this game ran Map 1-3 and weren’t uncollected and don’t do uncollected monthly quest and still getting 3* and 4* shards from AW wins, no one would be having gold issues. I know you will take it personally but I really don’t mean it that way. Just different circumstances for different people.

So you form assumptions about my game play and continually use that in debates, but tell me it's not meant to be personal. Had you not tried the same belittling tactic before, that might be plausible. However you repeated attempts speak for themselves.

My gold will never get to zero. I just took 5* Gwenpool to R4 and leveled up my first 6* and still have 5.7 million gold. Plus, I have 121 gold crystals I haven't opened. I don't understand people's gold problems.

If you had as many 5* and 6* as the closer to the top players in the game who don’t spend tons, then you’d understand. Although, it’s not even just that. I’m not saying it’s impossible for someone not in that position to understand, you just choose not to. You could empathise and realise that as people get further in the game you need more gold. That’s not an opinion, it’s a fact. It’s half a million gold to press rank up for a 5* rank 5.

I literally couldn’t care less that someone doesn’t take the game as seriously as me, that is entirely your choice. The fact is, and what baffles me, is that you consistently deny that there is an issue when there clearly is. I’m not trying to say you’re wrong because you don’t have as an advanced roster as others. #NoWelfare4Map6 -thats why your alliance feels a shortage you spend all your gold running map 6 to earn materials you do not want to invest your time into earning more gold to use, its part of game balance.

Gold shortage is a narraritive put forth by a few who want to acquire everything in game with the least ammount of time invested.

We’re in a reward system design for 5s, you're ignoring auxiliary sources for gold like duping champs more regularly.

I have 4 paths done in Labrynth of legends. Game end player lmao. The gold moaning is ridiculous at this point.

I know people in my alliance with 70+ 5 stars and they never complain about gold. You play map 5 and 6. It is your choice. By the way i am talking about 700,000 rating players.

I haven't been over a million a gold in probably six months. Our alliance does 5x5 aq maps, but for most of us it's not about the crystals we get. We do it to stay in our aq tier. I have cosmic AND mystic t4cc in the stash, and mutant and science are getting there, so I don't really need any more cats. The problem is, if we drop to map 3 or 4, we're likely going to be dropped a tier in aq. Don't want that. Just my two cents.

P.S. I hate arena, partly because I don't have time to grind 3 hours a day, but mostly because it's a bore. I realize this will spawn tons of "you want the rewards without the effort" comments, but I look at it as the one aspect of the game that's always there that I don't particularly enjoy is now a must for progression.

pull a champion that can save you a lot of units in clearing a certain content. but no, don't upgrade it as soon as you get it, & keep on spending units. because the great minds says so.
the problem with lot of people is they think whatever works for them works for others too.

Their basic problem is that a big part of any Collecting game is leveling and ranking the people/monsters/champs you get. It's fun to see the numbers go up. But a basic resource should never be a bottleneck past a certain level of gameplay. However, they have locked a large portion of gold income behind the Arena gates, which means that unless you have buttloads of free time to grind large amounts of boring arena, gold can be easily drained just ranking a single high-value champ.
A lot of this can be alleviated by adjusting the gold reward amounts for EQs. Currently, Master and Uncollected award much less gold than much easier fights in Act 4, and there is not a good reason for that. Gold rewards for Alliance/Solo events also need to increase to keep up with the game's 'inflation' of rank-up materials. The rare mats should be the bottlenecks, not the most basic resource.
Selling ISO should be extra gold, but not something expected just to maintain pace.
A monthly Gold Realm would be nice, but I think a correction of rewards to match speed of the game would go a long ways in helping.
I don't think it's reasonable to expect to be able to rank a new 5* straight to 3 or 4 as soon as you get them, but the reason you can't do that should be cats, not gold, especially since it's the cats that are the reward focus for many parts of the Game (obviously not all).

If end game players are told to move down to a 200k summoner level alliance to make ends meet, that tells us there are big issues with inflation and things are out of balance.

And if the best advice is to play map 3 or stop spending altogether, there's something seriously wrong with the game. If progression suddenly gets inverted then this is no longer a game.

We saw what happened last summer. Everyone was saving their 5* shards for 6 months for sparky because the 5* pool was trash. The meta at the time was, "don't open any crystal for the next 6 months". The game was broken then and it's still broken now.

It's the same thing we saw last summer. Save your 5* shards for 6 months for sparky. It made sense, but it took the enjoyment out of the game.

"Don't rank up, don't anything" might save your gold, but it's no longer a game anymore.
