Because an alliance is only made up of 30 people and the people that start their own alliance want to be in an alliance that can finish AQ Maps on a regular basis. They want to win wars against other alliances. They want to have fill their ranks with like minded players that are active and don't need to be told or asked to move. Some just want to have fun with their friends or enjoy the game at their own level. There are numerous reasons to start your own alliance. It is mostly about the rewards to get from being in one, both in and out of the game.
