Season 2 comes to an end

As season 2 of war comes to an end I have to admit I’m a bit concerned about the direction that the contest is heading.
Piloting and collusion are terms that we have all been forced to come to terms with. Kabam has attempted to discourage these types of issues using score and alliance war rating reductions. This led to other legitimate alliances being punished indirectly when they were matched alliances with a significantly higher power rating. From my own experience in an alliance with a 16m power rating we were matched against a 23m power rating as they rocketed back up the leaderboard following their punishment.
Near the end of the season we were promised that they would be watching and investigating all remaining matches. Myself l, and many others, were led to believe that fixes and corrections were on the way. We plowed through the last few weeks on the season with hopes that all would be made right.
Within hours of the season completing rewards started hitting inboxes across the contegst. It was exciting to finally be able to upgrade that champion that one had dreamed all season about ranking up.
With it brought confusion......
What happened to the investigations? Was the contest going to be made right as we all hoped it had it would be?
Then the waiting began. There had to be something on the forums today about how things would be fixed. Maybe summoners would find an extra special reward in their inboxes....
As the day came to a close an announcement was made, finally! However it wasn’t what any of us expected. It wasn’t a reassurance that their was a future fix for AW in the contest or that things would be made right.
Instead it was a different type of change. A change that seems to be a slap in the face to everyone with hope for a better season 3. AW was getting was not only getting more difficult nodes but was also removing one of the few pieces leveling the playing field for all summoners. Diversity was being removed.
In looking back over the last few weeks how do you feel about the direction of the contest? If you, like many others, are concerned then what are you most concerned with? Do you feel that piloting and collusion are being properly dealt with? Was there anyone communicated that encouraged you that all would be made right in Season 3?

Be vigilant and continue to speak out on what needs to be done to help improve something we have all come to love. But please be careful. I wouldn’t want to see anyone else getting in-game suspensions for anything they have said on the forums. That seems to be a common theme that has been going around today.
But seriously. I agree with your thoughts on the changes to AW diversity. My defense has never been great, but that was fine because I made up for it with diversity points. I was able to contribute something to the board to compensate for my usual scrub death to Biohazard Magik. Hehe.
Now with diversity meaning nothing for the upcoming season, everyone is going to be placing the toughest defenses they have, which will mean more units spent on crystals attempting to land some of the defenders and more units spent attempting to defeat the defenders in war. Those that ranked for diversity will not receive rank down tickets (as per Kabam Miike's response to a forum comment. https://forums.playcontestofchampions.com/en/discussion/77099/alliance-wars-season-3-discussion-thread/p5) and will now have less than satisfactory defenders, while those that can rank will be ranking top tier defenders that may not be usable in future AW seasons if Kabam "determine [that] Defender Diversity will return in later Seasons." (Recent AW Season 3 announcement. https://forums.playcontestofchampions.com/en/discussion/77098/alliance-wars-season-3-start-date-and-adjusments#latest) The chances of diversity possibly being reimplemented in the future is again voiced by Kabam Miike in his reply to a comment in the AW Season 3 discussion thread (https://forums.playcontestofchampions.com/en/discussion/77099/alliance-wars-season-3-discussion-thread)
It's difficult to make a choice when the circumstances of that decision can differ from one season to the next due to the developers continuing indecision on certain aspects of the game.
I'd like to believe that said developer doesn't make decisions based on the money that can be made, but it's not what they seem to be portraying at all. Kabam was attempting to placate their players with announcments claiming that there would be investigations into AW cheating and collusion and just punishments handed out, but they made a 180° turn and slapped us with tougher AW nodes while those who cheated were practically ignored. The choices made are seen as borderline incompetent by the majority of the player base and has left them confounded and irritated with the fluidity and direction of the game.
I do love this game, as most of you do, but it's becoming increasingly strenuous to play when community opinion isn't taken into consideration most of the time.
EDIT: Idk how to get rid of the lines going thru half of my comment so just ignore it ig.
