Question about corvus glaive

I recently pulled a 6 star corvus from the festured and am trying to learn to use him, will he still get the charges from defeating a mutant or an evading foe (mission 3 and 4) without the synergy without getting the bonus, or does he need to have the synergies with proxima etc to get above 2 charges?

    He still gets the charge, the buff from proxima midnight only changes his true "damage" buff to a true "strike" buff

    I have a proxima and am fine synergizing corvus and her for that charge! But if I don't have x23, wolverine or storm I can still get the 4th for defeating a mutant? Correct?
