but NOOOO, NOOOOO, too much lag... would break the servers....
unless it was added as a kind of offline feature.. that instead of sending data back and forward to the servers it ran as "offline" style content simply as a p2p system between the phones and no actual interaction with the servers once the fight is started.

No it wouldn't because attacking first would still be an immediate loss
