Does Iceman get a lot from being awakened?

With a generic gem

IDK if I use 5* generic gem on him, but as a 4* I think it’s worth it. He starts the fight with cold snap or frost bite.. (whatever it is) and it great because not only causes damage, but also slows an evade champ. It’s very good to have this if you place him on defense as well. But I don’t think he’s worth a generic as a 5 star. Maybe not even a class gem, depending who you already have awakened.

I agree. Not worth it for generic but worth it for class. Only 5* i would awaken over Iceman would be AA and omega red. Those 2 i would probably use a generic on.

Like @RonD9 said, that extra damage can be nice and being able to shut down the evade at the beginning of the fight with Coldsnap can be helpful too. And since it lets you hit those evading champs reliably, it is a lot easier to build up the Power needed to keep using his SP1. This can let you keep Coldsnap on the opponent, and keep them from evading, for pretty much the whole fight.

But, it is also important to keep the rest of your roster in mind with this kind of decision, as well as the types of opponents you normally face or are expecting to.
