Some questions about an initial LOL run

I’m going for an initial LOL run soon. Easy path of course. I’ll be using a 5/65 sparky and synergies plus a blade 5/50. My questions are (I’m free to play):
1. How does the LOL engage timer work? Is it anyone over 2k attack gets the added enrage timer? I tried with sparky 4/55 and he managed to one shot rulk before the second timer.
2. How many units should I save up? I’m hoarding about 100 UC free crystals and many level 3 potions from ROL.
3. Other synergies for sparky? Blade for magik and other 3 are TBD.

    Have you tried since 5/65 sparky? I was able solo to electra with sparky, YJ, AM,MM, blade... Redhulk, I beat before first timer, dont remember on Oldman logan... only reply to subscribe lol curious what others say for recommendations, i will be doing once through soon also, saving crystals, units and farming pots.
