Blade Crystals

I currently have 16,000 5* shards having trouble deciding whether or not to get the blade crystal or just stick to basic

Worst that could happen, you don't get Blade, all champs in the basic are with Blade Crystal, Go for Blade, because this might be the last chance for 20% for Blade or any champ for that matter.

Blade crystal, unless you have him maxed out as a 4* already. A 4* can get you through a lot of the content and let you open basic crystals for a while without absolutely needing him. However, if you don't even have a 4* version of him, I would go with Blade Crystal cause he does help with a lot of content.

True, Blade isn't the answer to everything, but it really depends on where the OP is at in his progression. I got Blade relatively early in my 5 star roster (maybe the 10th one or so) and still haven't pulled a 4* version of him. And in my case, he helped me a lot to get the initial run on a good chunk of Act 5, and to clear paths up to the boss in a lot of monthly UC quests. I do have 4* of SE spidey and GR so that helped. But just talking in my case, he was definitely worth 5,000 extra shards to help with that content. I'm not saying OP should definitely do it no matter what, which is why I qualified my advice. But a 20% chance to get a very good champ is pretty great in the overall RNG of this game.
