New to Map 6

My alliance is taking our first steps into Map 6 and I have a question, I’ve been looking at guide maps online and they all say that section 2 requires 9 people, this implies that the path between node 40 to 56 is a path that requires exploration even though the nodes are capable of being cleared without traveling that particular path. In other alliance based maps, exploration is based on the nodes and not the paths between them, is this different in Map 6? Is it completely necessary to send 2 people down that poison path just for 1 of them to fill in the dotted line?

    You do not need to travel that path.

    However, the far left will be very long without an energy backup and that guy running it solo will be toast for section 3.
