**WINTER OF WOE - BONUS OBJECTIVE POINT**
As previously announced, the team will be distributing an additional point toward milestones to anyone who completed the Absorbing Man fight in the first step of the Winter of Woe.
This point will be distributed at a later time as it requires the team to pull and analyze data.
The timeline has not been set, but work has started.
There is currently an issue where some Alliances are are unable to find a match in Alliance Wars, or are receiving Byes without getting the benefits of the Win. We will be adjusting the Season Points of the Alliances that are affected within the coming weeks, and will be working to compensate them for their missed Per War rewards as well.

Additionally, we are working to address an issue where new Members of an Alliance are unable to place Defenders for the next War after joining. We are working to address this, but it will require a future update.

Mansion and Mutants or time taken in Terrigen Mists? What team would you join?

Hey gang!

Time for another community-driven discussion!

There are so many awesome teams in the various corners of The Contest. Everyone has their favorite groups and we’d love to hear about which part of the wider Marvel Universe speaks to you the most.

But… let’s get a little more creative, shall we? What if you could be a part of your favorite team? Have you ever wondered what it’d be like to be an X-Men or an Avenger? Maybe an Inhuman or even a Guardian of the Galaxy? Asgardian? Spider-Verse? Well we want to know about it!

Let us know if there’s a team in the Marvel Universe that you want to be a part of and why. Perhaps, if you feel like it, you can let us know your powers or abilities (maybe even class type ;) ).

If I could be part of a group, I’d go with being part of the X-Men!

They’re such a big team/family and I actually think it’d be fun to have some ability that I was born with--not to mention the uniforms are pretty rad. As for my mutant power? I’d want the ability of speed kind of like Quicksilver, being able to get from places that fast? I’d never have to worry about traffic again and running errands would be so much easier.

So what about y’all? Let’s hear it. :)

An Avenger...then again my profile picture gives that away. :)
  • Spiderverse! Without a question.

I like their power set, specifically Peter Parker’s, because it’s not overpowered, but has a little of everything.

Enhanced strength, speed, agility, and healing (he heals pretty fast in comics and movies). All of these are amped up, but balanced. However, the biggest asset is his spidersense and wall crawling abilities.

I think having a spidersense as presented in the movies/comics would be interesting, and being able to crawl/cling to most surfaces would be awesome to have.

Also, the spiderverse characters have some of the best costumes and villains in Marvel.

See I was debating between Spider-Verse or X-Men! It's actually a hard one to choose. I ended up picking X-Men because I think ONE ability is enough for me. :joy:

Thank you for sharing though! I definitely agree too with the last part. Some Spider-Verse designs are just insane.

I mean, the Avengers do have some pretty sweet digs.

I say mutant. They have a myriad of cool powers. If I was an X-Men member my powers would be telekinesis, telepathy, and the ability to see into the future.

I'd love telekinesis. Cuz it's a great utility power. You can block bullets, fly, throw things around, Force-choke, all off one power.

I'd like a yellow costume because I've had a mania for the colour since I was a little kid. Some of my favourite characters in things are because of the "lello" colours they are/wear. (couldn't say yellow properly as a kid)

I've probably be an MI13 agent, being British. Maybe some kinda super-secret spy type guy who does covert ops. In which case, forget the yellow suit; black tactical gear all the way.

Spider Verse for sure, only I’d be a villain. Being able to climb buildings, sense danger and swing away. Plus my special ability of confusion if I’m spotted, I’d be an amazing thief and if caught, Peter, Miles or Gwen would be very unsure why they caught me in the first place (hahahahahaha <— evil ish laugh)

I'd say fantastic four and I would have powers like the thing and human torch due to able to put fire and incinerates while also having a high defensive boost with the things rock body as if them 2 was put together it would be a great combo

If i could be a part of any team I would love to gallivant the galaxy with peter quill and rocket. The antics we would get into would be quite comedic. not to mention how fun it would be to prank drax all day, id never get tired of that.
As for my skill set. I think it would be cool to have a nono-tech utility belt, and gauntlet. The utility belt would be able to create constructs of tools or incidentals that i would need for missions or fights. The gauntlet would be reminiscent or Inspector gadgets abilities.. Being able to take the form of any weapon or tool i need for the situation at hand.
grappling hook, anti grav gun, thermal beams, ice beams, you name it..

Also i would be the best dancer in the universe, Peter quill stands no chance in a dance off against me.

My choice would probably be X-Men as well, but actually for somewhat of an opposite reason. I always thought that one of the more interesting things about the mutants in and surrounding the X-Men was that they were not born with their powers, and they weren't just instantly gifted their powers in a simple package. Rather, they grew into their powers. There always seemed to be this idea that the powers were not the thing, that something else was bringing those powers out, and those powers could grow and evolve over time. Also, the idea that the people with the powers didn't have any sort of manual on what those powers even were, and had to learn and experiment to figure that out, was interesting to me.

For me, the superpower I've always wanted was flight. But not with biological wings, with some other paranormal ability. And then I'd be spending all my free time trying to figure out, how does this work, what causes the flight, can I figure out how to use that core ability for something else?

I think the fact that the X-Men operate out of a school, and learning what gifts you really have and what they can be used for, is one of the more interesting aspects of the X-Men.

    Awesome loadout on tech!

You're gonna have to be pretty good at dancing if you wanna beat Peter. ;)

Terrigenisis for me. Blackbolt and Medusa have been some of my favorite characters in the comics. I would love to see Gorgon and Triton in game.

    I like that!

I enjoy the way you explained everything too, I can definitely see the interest there. I also really agree that the School is such a big reason I enjoy the idea of being X-Men. Having that help? That's an awesome addition.

LOL! :joy: That's completely fair! Villains are also a "group".

I've always been fascinated by genetics (currently studying genetic engineering). So it's probably obvious who I'd pick. (Hint: it starts with X).

Agreed, but his biggest asset imo is his intelligence and scientific knowledge. That has helpend him defeat more dangerous opponents than anything else.

I wanna be a part of the Avengers graduated from the X-Men Academy!

More specifically X-men because like in any school you will learn to use and control your powers and make best use of it. Of course you have the best professor to guide you.

Then want to be under Captain America and Iron Man ! Will know to put our heart and brains in front of everything !
And of course work with the Avengers !

Ability to yield and absorb the energy from the surrounding ! This is both Strength and Weakness because the aura of energy (Positive Negative) influences the nature of energy stored within. The Negative energy makes way for Rage and Positive for all the good things and in control. Tapping too much into the Rage brings the Dark Energy force out called Shadow Soul, It was critical to have learned to control the outburst of this.

The energy harnessed gives Superior, Strength, Speed, Energy Blasts, Temporary protective force field, Temporary flight, Energy based healing powers

Weapon : Vibranium Sword (Which can be powered up by the energy to slice through anything)

    Me too!

Either that, or I want to be part of K'un-Lun or the Ravagers(MCU)

I like the Ravagers because I always liked Characters like Boba Fett, Han Solo and Cad Bane (all from Star Wars) Who will take any job, no matter how dirty, to make ends meet. If I were a part of the Ravagers, I would have Rocket boots (like Star Lord) as well as an assortment of easily concealable weapons like handguns and knives, and a robotic right hand(As my dominate hnad is my left hand) with all sorts of fun accessories like blades, rockets, flamethrowers and maybe even something like an Iron Man Repulsor.
(Edit)As a Ravager, I would also be skilled in theft, piloting, cheating, fighting dirty and sharpshooting

For K'un-Lun, We all know what skill set you would need to have there. I don't want the mantle of Iron Fist, but I still would be drawn to the Ancient teachings of the city. I would specialise in the disciplines of Kung Fu, And carry a Dao(saber) and a three part staff that could become a Bo staff.

Well I would be one of the X-Men, I love wolverine and Emma Frost. Being born with powers and growing up trying to control them and using for the good of all us really great.

    Xmen

I'll be a mutant with the abilities of jean grey
If by chance our world ends up being a world where mutants are treated with prejudice, I sure as hell ain't shipping the co existence dream....
  • I would like to be the x-men, more specific to be part of the brotherhood, with the power to travel in time and telekinesis.

    X-Men, Without a doubt.

Twas a hard decision between the inhabitants of Attilan (Domain of the Inhumans if you didn't know) and the mutants of the X-Men

I chose the X-Men because I personally like them more than any other team (other than maybe the Avengers). I also like the X-Men movies, my favourite being Future Past. There are also cool members of the X-Men like Havok, Archangel and my personal favourite; Deadpool (Actually I'm not sure if he counts but screw it)

If I were a mutant I'd have powers similar to Storm, Nightcrawler and Quicksilver. I would have Electrokinesis , Electricity Absorption/Immunity, Electric Propulsion (Basically Strafing or Flight), The Ability to teleport a short distance or through electrical devices and the ability to burn electricity to improve physical performance.

My only problem with being with X-Men is having the chance to face Omega Red, he may be cool to use in-game, but if you had to come up against this advanced life leeching being in reality, oh god......

Does it have to be a hero? Some would rather be the villain. The megalomaniac despot who doesn’t care about the collateral damage; and revels in a high body count.
  • DanielYorkDanielYork Posts: 42
Pretty obvious the best team would be the movie version of X-Force. Hanging out with Deadpool is a clear win and you don’t have to have special powers to be on the team. Hang out with Lady Luck and live the good life!
