Did I do something wrong?

I'm curious, has anyone gone through this before?
Let me tell my.. "not that deep", and sort of annoying, experience. From today.
I've been looking for a decent alliance to join. I started playing some time last week so I'm only level 22 but I have some good champs (in my opinion. I'm still building them up) so I thought "why not join a somewhat serious alliance?". I also happened to receive an invite from the leader of a pretty active alliance, so I decided to join. After joining, I messaged the guy "thanks for inviting me, I was looking for an alliance". and he was like "no problem, we're happy to have you" or something like that.
They had already started a war and I could only spectate at that time, but I did notice some members complaining about not enough people joining group 2. I was gonna jump in to clarify that I just joined the alliance so I couldn't participate. But I didn't. Maybe I should have?
So I leave the game for a few hours. I mean we all have lives outside of MCOC, right? When I open the game again, I noticed that I've been kicked out by an officer, who had also sent me a friend request. Maybe it was before, maybe it was after, I don't know. Then I check and the guy who invited me had unfriended me?? I was just confused and curious so I messaged the officer asking them why I was removed. I said that I was just genuinely curious and explained that I just joined and was unable to participate in the war, since I figured that's why I was kicked out. THEN I checked later and that person unfriended me too. I just asked a question!
I know this isn't that serious but I guess I just got somewhat offended because I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything wrong.

Welp this was my rant for today.

    What was your level compared to every one elses in that alliance? If they were full and you were lowest level they coulda bumped you for a higher level recruit. If they were not full and you weren’t the lowest level most likely they don’t know what they are doing. If they can’t fill 2 groups, they might not be as active or serious as you are wanting also.

    It’s gonna be hit or miss a few times at the beginning of alliance searches.

    Google mastery setups so you don’t mess up mastery points early on when just starting. Just a tip.

    ohh okay, I think that'd make sense. I just checked and they do have one level 20 but the rest are 23+, but they only have 24 members now so they did drop a few. I was the last to join.
    Thanks for the mastery advice. I saw people talking here and there about carefully placing them but I never knew how to go about with them so I have a few just stacking up.

    I don't think it's a level thing, it's probably a an inexperience officer he doesn't know the waiting time for new members.
