Uncollected Masteries - keep suicides, or rework?

I'm trying to do Uncollected. Currently on 5.2.4. I had followed another big mastery guide that pointed toward willpower and then suicides. It's been fine for awhile but now I feel like it's hindering my questing for Uncollected. Even though I have decent immune or debuff handling chars like Iceman, Corvus, Luke, Ultron, Ghost. I feel like the suicides make it harder to use other good chars like Sparky, Magik, Quake in the longer quests. I don't even do much arena grinding anymore, which I thought the suicide masteries were more targetted towards, shorter fights.

If I should rework, what should I do? I've done some research and found a 'questing' build that uses Despair and Deep Wounds, but unlocking Despair alone would cost 1000 units, and from what I've read, I'm going to need lots of units for the last couple quests of 5.2, especially the final fight.

So is there a basic mastery set up that doesn't use Despair that would help me get Uncollected?

As sort of a side note, I think the main thing keeping me from Uncollected is my average play skills. I think I have a good enough roster. I've been dependent on Parry/Stun for so long, that 5.2.4 is tripping me up; I'm having to learn to depend on Evading more, and not knowing when I can counterattack after evading, or knowing when I need to evade more than once (this is shallow or deep evade?). I've watched some Dorky Diggity Dave videos on evading and intercepting but maybe I need to watch again. And just practice a lot. Ghost 5* and Quake are recent additions and I'm still figuring out how to use them effectively.

You have a solid grasp on things I think. First thing about suicides is that you want to unlock the entire three or none at all. You are taking the same amount of damage for less benefit. So, take that point out of Liquid Courage until you can max it.

Take those points out if Stand Your Ground and Perfect Block, and put them into Physical Resistance. This is useful far more often, and will help you take less damage.

3/3 in Salve are wasted at this point. Salve is useless to you.

Despair is one of the strongest masteries in the game. This will help you shut down so much healing. With increased resistance to damage and reduction of the opponent’s healing you will finish fights quicker and with more HP.

Get the final two points in Willpower. Corvus will actually regen.

Running Blade and Domino, you want Deep Wounds. I know these are crazy expensive. One point in assassin is also quite strong.

I find that 3/3 in Courage is helpful in order to save on potions. Just stick to 40% revives.

Just some tips. Some may be better than others.

Thanks very much for responding and your tips. Couple follow up questions:

Is there any place to farm 40% revives? I've been farming the lvl 1 revive from tier 3 of the longer solo events

How does 3/3 in Courage help save on potions? Other than what you said, just more dmg

Funny (or sad) thing is, I haven't even been running Blade and Domino when trying 5.2.4, just because they don't have immunities and those 5.2.4 fights have been going so long, I could have a perfect fight and still be down 50%. Also, I haven't figured how to use Blade's regen well, either. How to balance needing the power for specials vs burning it for regen.

I finally tried using Magik vs Yellowjacket and have had more success than Ghost, so I'm going with that. I hadn't tried her before because of the suicide damage. I'm actually right in the middle of my longest run in 5.2.4 yet, just got through the teleporter. No one died yet, but used some health pots.

Still trying to figure out the best team. I used to run Ghost (or Ultron), Corvus, Luke, Iceman, something. Not even using Blade and/or Sparky because of suicides and not knowing how to use Blade's regen well.

Also, without the points in Salve and Recovery, how do you have enough points to unlock Willpower? Doesn't it still need 15 points or so? Or has that changed?

Also also, on Despair, should I go for 3/3? Seems like yes. Or is 1 good enough?

I’ll respond more later, but for now... you want recovery, so you will have one point in salve.

    Max despair is extremely powerful.

Also, it seems a lot more champs are dealing energy damage these days, so I threw an extra point in energy resistance. Not sure how much it helps.
