Accidental Use of Awakening Gem

So I went to use my 5* generic awakening gem the other day on my Void and saw that it wasn't there anymore. I have alot of characters on my roster but think it was somehow assigned to Cable of all toons - FML. Have any of you ever had this happen and is it possible to get it reversed? I sent Kabam an email and they said it had to let them know that it happened within 3 days or they wouldn't reverse it. Any advice/guidance would be great. Thank you.

    If support says they came reverse it there's not much you can do

    i know someone that this happened to - they realized it almost a month later and got it reversed. their website/help page says they can do it if 1) you can establish that you actually had the gem and 2) you didn't put any stones into the character. Doesn't mention any time limit. There are other things on there like accidentally contributing too much in donations to the league or buying crystals that say you have to do something within x,y,z days but noting regarding gems. . .

    I know someone that got it reversed after putting 5* cosmic gem into carnage.
