What’s even more annoying is people comparing this to other subscription based services. Firstly a lot of games these days offer these things only for skins or whatever that don’t affect gameplay. Secondly, in other games, it’s still possible to gain these benefits without spending after playing for a while. I hate to use this example but with fortnite players can earn the currency needed to buy the VIP or “Battle” pass. If Kabam offered this for units as well I’m sure it would satisfy a lot (not all) more summoners
Will Cav players get to do the trade ups from all levels? Get two featured 5* crystals and trade 4* shards for 5* shards at both prices?
Unfortunately not. Those will upgrade as you go up in Progression levels.
I wonder if we could get the thought process behind why inventory cap improvements have to be behind a paywall? The community has literally been asking for this for years and introducing it now behind a paywall feels a bit insulting.
I don't comment on posts many times but I can't resist in this case. Let me start by saying that I respect Kabam as a company. I have enjoyed most of the events and I generally don't complain much. But this... This is horrible. All the perks that you get by buying this "deal" are things we wanted from the beginning. Kabam adding them but with a cost means that they read our requests but decide not to just fulfill them in a f2p way, but instead making us pay for them. This is disrespect to the majority of the playerbase. I know some people are ok with this, but clearly the majority is not. And a good company must listen to the concerns of the MAJORITY. We already know by a video Seatin made a while back that Kabam is doing just fine financially. Not only fine, but OVERLY GOOD. They are making more money than even some console games wich is exceptional for a mobile game. People are already buying their massively overpriced offers. There was no need for a subscription, other than Kabam wanting to be even more greedy. They could have given us all these for free, there is no reasoning behind this decision. Is it really fair that a f2p player who has played since the game's lunch and worked hard to progress will not be able to buy featured crystals with 11000 5* crystal shards and also lose so many others advantages? On the other hand, a player with a lot of money that just started the game will be able to clear the content very quickly since he will get more gold, the ability to buy more valuable resources etc. In my eyes, that's not ok. I respect everyone's opinion but I believe this is a bad play from Kabam.
Will Cav players get to do the trade ups from all levels? Get two featured 5* crystals and trade 4* shards for 5* shards at both prices?
Unfortunately not. Those will upgrade as you go up in Progression levels.
What about the potion and catalyst trade ups? Cav only have the featured 5* and shard offers listed.
Those are still available! The chart shows either new additions or upgrades to the Shop as your Progress Level increases.
For instance you see Tier 1 Alpha Catalyst trade in for 3x T3B in Conqueror (limit 2) and Uncollected (limit 3). That means that they Limit updates from 2 to 3 when you become Uncollected.
I will not pay for this and I feel this is a disgraceful way to make money and I feel it is pushing the f2p out of the game. I will not be playing as much and I will not put another penny into this game. I have put some money into this game but with this announcement I will stop. Kabam stop with all this money grabbing.
Like Kabam dont make enough money a month out of all of us now they want to charge us a monthly subscription for a supposibly free to play game
It's definitely free to play. Just not completely free. There are purchases available. If people didn't get what others can't for free, there wouldn't be a point in selling anything at all.
I have always loved the idea of adding a MCOC subscription, but now that I'm reading it, kinda feels "Meh". I'm still thinking about it, but kinda seems the same price as a Netflix subscription but only 1% of the entertainment content.
So they finally give us a ton of things we've asked about for Years! But they're going to lock it behind a Subscription Service, are you *redacted* serious... For the millionth time, "Just because you could, doesn't mean you should . . ."
Lot's of people not looking at the big picture here... They have ALWAYS had $$$ offers that allowed spenders to advance faster in game. This is an OFFER like all the rest. Buy it if you like, ignore it if you don't.
To me, the value is too good to pass up at that "introductory" price. I will be subscribing on day 1. If the price goes up and they don't add value, I won't come here and complain, I just won't buy it again. This is not hard stuff.
This is interesting. I have been wondering what Kabam was going to do to try and compete with the upcoming Apple Arcade. I think the idea here is intriguing, but not enough to get me too excited.
I see a lot of YouTube videos of people playing with champs that look so much fun and the fact that I haven’t been lucky enough to pull them is the biggest letdown, disappointment, frustration in the game. I am not talking about about god tier vs meme tier champs, this more along the lines of some champs are just more fun to play given their mechanics and or play styles versus other champs.
How could a subscription model be implemented that would get me really excited? Perhaps the ability to choose a champ that I get to play with for a month. At the end of the month or subscription the champ goes away. The rarity and rank of the champ you get could be decided by progression in the game and or by different levels of the subscription.
In an effort to try and keep some balance the champ we choose could be restricted from AW or maybe even AQ.
What will happen to items in my inventory that exceed the stash limit after I stop purchasing the Sigil?
Eg, currently I can hold up to 6 T5B. If I get the Sigil it says 25% expansion, so let's say it allows me to hold up to 8 (since 1.25*6 is 7.5).
Next month I do not renew my subscription to Sigil - I have 8 T5B in stash, but the maximum is 6. Do I continue holding on to 8 in my stash, except that I cannot get any more new ones and they go to the overflow? And overtime as I use up my T5B, my max limit falls back down to 6?
Assuming this works the same way for potions, revives etc?
I've often wished that a subscription of some sort was offered. Unfortunately, this one is not appealing to me. Please consider creating one that can help with RNG. Maybe it will make you eligible for a "no trash champs" crystal. Nonetheless, this is a step in the right direction.
Wow. Even more pay to win options. Congratulations on being so greedy, Kabam.
This isn't even close to pay to win, this is pay to get a few more benefits than free players do, same as always.
This is the literal definition of pay to win. Some of these things do provide some form of competitive advantage, and you're paying for them.
Pay to win? You can also win for free. Spending has been a part of the game as long as I can remember. As long as people can spend, they'll have access to what others don't. That's what they're paying for. If people are somehow implying that F2P Players won't be able to progress without spending, that will never happen. Ever. All spending does is save time and accelerate progress. There will always be a place for F2P Players in this game. They go to lengths to make sure of it. However, it's not a game where people who don't spend should have everything those that do have. I don't know where this illusion of closing in on the gap came from, but I have to be "that guy". People who don't spend will not catch up to people who spend regularly, and they definitely won't catch up to people who spend insane amounts like COW. That's just not going to happen. People who have money get more. That's true for the game, and life in general. What F2P Players CAN do is play for free, grow at their own pace, and still compete in the game. They're never going to be edged out in a way that makes playing obsolete. They just won't be head-to-head with people spending money. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the gap is real with or without this Offer, and what's included here doesn't make a difference for that either way.
Every month I pay my £5 subscription to play Oldschool Runescape and enjoy all the members only features the game offers: Additional skills, 1000s of new and more powerful items, 5x bank space, 5x quests, massive parts of the map. In short, literally thousands, probably nigh on ten thousand hours worth of content for £5/month.
You’re offering me 20% better ratio on a featured 5*, a bit more inventory space and an hour’s worth of arena gold for £10/month.
Are you actually arguing that if you buy anything its pay to win, because that's quite simply incorrect.
Yes because that's the actual definition of a pay to win game. If you're able to spend money to improve your competitive advantage, expand your roster, etc., then it's a pay to win game. That's not to say that you can't play this entire game free to play and compete at the highest levels. The two aren't mutually exclusive. But if you look at your own roster and compare it to the people who have spent thousands or have multiple R2 Sig 200 6*, you can't tell me you're on the same competitive level when it comes to future progression, completion of content, AW, AQ etc. You can make up for that with skill, and compete at the highest levels without ever spending a penny, but you can indeed buy a competitive advantage in this game. Therefore this entire game, by definition, is pay to win
@Kabam Miike I actually think this is a pretty cool idea, and would be very interested in it with one particular change.
Your "progression" based rewards are off the mark. More specifically what I mean by that, is that the Black ISO market doesn't truly have materials most Cavaliers would be interested in. To continue the specifics, I feel like it's pretty fair to say that most Cavaliers have a roster of 5* champs they're happy with. Perhaps they're missing one or two elusive champs they'd love to have (for me it's still Ægon), but I suspect most of us are more concerned with 6* champs and ranking 6* champs. Not present in the Sigil is 6* and T5B or T5 class catalysts...not even shards.
Please take this as constructive criticism for the game team, as it's meant to be, because personally, I would subscribe to this with those additions. That said, the offer as it is, just doesn't seem to be that beneficial to those with a Cavalier title.
This is going to be a FLOP. Really Kabam ? Really? As if you don't have enough of our money already? Maybe you should worry other things like improving game experience before releasing more of your money hungry offers. At least that's what I think. This is so sad.
So they finally give us a ton of things we've asked about for Years! But they're going to lock it behind a Subscription Service, are you *redacted* serious... For the millionth time, "Just because you could, doesn't mean you should . . ."
Now before people start grouping me together with the rest, I completely understand this is Kabam's Main Point of Income and are a For Profit Company. *I have no problem with that*, I even think it's fair for things like the 5 Star Featured Shard Crystal Cost Reduction to be behind a Pay Wall because it's a good value for higher tier players but isn't a massive necessity making it a nice bonus for those that already Spend on the game and want a little extra. What I do have a problem with is locking things behind a Pay Wall that should have been in the Base Game Years Ago, like an Increased Storage Capacity! There is no reason for something that Big, that would effect All Players at Any Level, to be barred unless you pay for a Monthly Subscription Service and is even worse because it's not Permanent!
I’m disgusted to be honest. All content should be available to everyone and the playing field should be even re: energy capacity, stash expiry etc. If people want to pay for stuff rather then putting in time and effort then let them, but do not create a barrier between those paying and those not. This is a slippery slope. Soon paying players will get access to certain champs, revives and other material the free-to-players don’t. Makes me want to retire. Kabam needs to reconsider going down this path.

Now they are widening the gap even more.
Don’t like it. One bit.
