Thoughts on Air Walker

Recently pulled him as 6 star and wanted to check him on my own before giving in to popular opinion(mainly because i LOVE his animations)
I enjoy using him in less serious situations once he is ramped up and his play style seems to be tricky to use in more critical matchups( charging heavy just before reaching a power bar)
Since there are a lot of more skilled players here, thought of asking if someone else has any useful inputs or wants to shed some light on this herald

I've went ahead and moved this thread from General Discussion to the Strategy and Tips section as it is the most appropriate place for it.

Being denied the one thing that makes his character really good (his L3) until you've won THREE fights with him, and making him centered around power gain and yet being only the fourth best champion THIS YEAR with a power gain mechanic (Nova, Mojo, and Dragon Man say hi) leave him in a bad position, and being both a villain and having weak and predictable specials leave him a mess for war defense.
He's the worst Herald, and arguably the worst 2020 champ.
Okay so, Air-Walker is by no means a god tier champion but he sure as hell isn't a bad champion. While I cannot deny that his ramp up can be gruelling, Air-Walker can still do well. His Dark Tide debuffs can trigger despair though you'd need to make sure it doesn't turn passive if you want to use it.
He has three main ways he can output his damage, his Armour Breaks, his SP2 and his SP3 effect. His Armour Break provides DOT equal 20% of the opponent's base attack every tick. Which means he can provide strong dot if the opponent has strong base attack. Keeping the Armour Breaks up can be stressful but with two you reduce the opponent's Armour by around -4200 (which is more than medusa or vision with 10 Armour Breaks) plus will deal a minimum of 440% of their attack as dot. So long as you can weave in the final light attack, you can refresh 2 Armour Breaks and you can do more should you have the skill.
His SP2 deals 40% burst damage which I'll concede that it isn't a lot but with the Armour Breaks it'll start looking better.
An ideal rotation normally if you cannot get the SP3 yet is to get unblockable SP1s until you get the dark tide passive and just proc sp2s ideally with the unblockable and the armour breaks active so you can get the best out of him, his SP3 can be factored in right after you get the passive if you can get it.
After you fully ramp him up, a lot of people will outline the sp3 as the best thing gained but they don't talk about how fast Air-Walker's power-gain becomes. Around 11% of his Max Power every second so long he is charging his heavy so you can speed to a special and proc it so you can special intercept.
Now personally I believe Air-Walker is not the worst of 2020's champions but he is close to the bottom. I'd rank him above Terrax, Mole Man and Nova for the time being until we get info on the updates imo. I'll still stand by Air-Walker as he is imo a nice champ, not god or meme but nice.
Thanks for the info
