Special Lock 1 node in AW broken?

Just fought node 5 in AW which has a special lock 1. My power got locked too early it seems. Only got the ability to fire the special on the last KO hit. As you can see from photos, it locked on hit 5 through hit 27, and then only gave me the full bar on the 28th and final hit.02dkpqdiqe07.png

    You know, I think the mistake is actually mine in this case. Probably I get hit by a heavy attack right before locking, so then I was locked at 8% less than one bar?
