Sonic vibrations bug?

Currently in aw i’m against a debuff immune summoned symbioid, but he’s not taking that bonus damage from sonic vibrations. I was hitting normal damage with my 4/55 gladiator hulk. Is this only supposed to affect attacking symboids?
