Make Gilly a little more SPICY!

First off, this is not a complaint in any way, just a thought. Just like many champions, Guillotine is slowly being left behind in the contest. While she has been one of the most fun characters to play (nothing quite like finishing a champ off with the special 1 or 2 animation), I find more and more that she is not making it onto any of the teams I am using, especially for End-Game content.

For quick burst fights (Less than 100k health, and NOT bleed immune) she is great. Beyond that, her damage is very sub-par. Kabam, this is your BABY! Why leave her behind?

After this month’s event quest, something dawned on me. Her sword is almost its own character, a character that has an obvious “blood lust.” While the synergy with Heimdall is great, having more crits doesn’t help Gilly shine unless she can keep her soul charges up.

Here are a few thoughts on improvements:
1) Give her a way to gain more soul charges other than by the opponent just losing health. Personally, I like the thought of giving her sword a “blood lust.” Each time a stack of bleed is triggered, she gets another soul. Cap the limit at whatever seems reasonable after beta testing. This way she is more like an AA, where she would really shine against bleeding champs, but against bleed immune, she would still function exactly the same.
2) Cap her special 3 at ????? damage (just like Loki and his special 2) so that she can’t just breeze by LoL by spamming it and dropping 600k damage at a time.

The way I see it, these small changes could take her from OK to Great, without making her “God Tier.” By giving her another way to earn souls, it makes her a little more useful for finishing fights started by other champs. It also makes her Special 3 a little more repeatable (anyone playing Gilly for months or years knows that you only really get 1 chance to make that special 3 count since you lose all your soul charges). Add that with the trickle of health steal she gets, it makes her a little more useful beyond rare instances where having reliable heal reversal is crucial.

I’ve also thought of other options such as making her bleeds stronger the more souls she has, or something along those lines. No need to revamp the whole character, just SPICE her up a little so she does not get left behind.

I'm sure this is just a pipe dream, and I have plenty of other great champs, I just miss using this character. I would love to hear the communities thoughts.

    Next beta gully and thor Jane foster

    Hitting stunned opponents should power drain them by x% and also have AAR

    Sp1 should apply stronger shock damage than previous time

    Sp2 should permanent armor break or armor shatter like medusa

    Its mjlonir after all

    Making Jane utility? First Shocked enemies have armor break on all attacks dealt to them. When the enemy is no longer shocked a shatter is placed with its duration and potency based on how many breaks were applied.

    Stunned enemies have all passive power gain potency -60% and stunning them drains 10% a BAR or power.


    Sp1 and Sp2 shouldn’t be OP but Concussion added to Sp2 and Sp1 gives 50% additional damage on the form of direct shock damage added to the next 5 attacks. These shock charges also apply armor break passives scaled to light medium and heavy attacks but cannot be converted into armor shatter, these armor break passives last until the next special attack by Jane Foster

    No offense guys, but while I think Jane needs a bump also, this post was intended to discuss Gilly. I think we have gotten a little off track.

    I’d be more inclined to give her a carry over. The sword would always want more from just a small cut of Strange so why not give her a frenzied persistence? I’m not sure HOW that would work but given the sword being that crazy about “finishing the job” it’d make sense

    Considering the monthly event has showed us the sword can learn about people's histories, maybe each stack of bleed could cause an ability reduction of some kind as the sword gains more knowledge against its opponents?

    And read minds… so probably evasion reduced… or each bleed could prevent an evasion? OOH like a reverse Miles kinda!

    Naaaaah. Requiring bleeds means RNG already, plus the prerequisite that they are able to bleed and placing the first bleed or 2 anyways
