Character lockout issue

I was in an alliance and had committed several characters to alliance quests//war and once committed i was removed from the alliance. The characters are still locked in. AFAIK the alliance i was removed from will still benefit from these characters usage and i cannot further my content utilizing said chars. Is this an intended function?

    Hi,

    Unfortunately, you will need to wait until the Alliance Quest and Alliance War have completed to access your Champions again since they are in use.
