Chaining SPs to Combos

There seems to be an issue with chaining specials on the back of a combo. It’s not consistent though- I’d say only 10% of the time and mostly in the special event quests.
I know there is an open/ semi closed issue with Voodoo in this but it’s not just him- iceman SP1, vision, blade sp2, Hyperion sp1...... There may be more but generally that forms the core of my questing team and am noticing it on all of them.
Generally it’s just annoying because you waste a power bar but with voodoo, blade, vision, Hyperion and anyone else where they take slightly longer to recover post special, they are susceptible to getting caught with a counter attack. And when you’re doing the epic difficulty, this is more than just annoying because a few hits can cause you significant damage.
The thread on Voodoo says this has been fixed but not from what I can see....
BUT I also have the lag issue so I don’t know if it’s down to the lag issue or a chaining issue. But given I’ve been back and forth about the lag issue for MONTHS and it’s still not resolved, maybe this is a chaining issue?
