Alliances

Hey guys pretty new to the game I feel but what are alliances for? I guess I'm just asking someone to give me the main idea of them. Should I join one or is it cool to fight on without one

Joining an alliance will speed up your progress a lot. It also gives you access to 2 big areas of the game, Alliance quests and alliance wars. Alliance quests are like normal quests but up to 10 people can participate in the same group and take different paths to remove linked nodes on minibosses and the final boss. It involves strategy, time management and awards glory for you to spend in the glory store as well as a few other rewards. Alliance wars are where you search for a match and your alliance will compete with another to try and score the most points and win. You have 24 hours to place defenders (your champions) and essentially make your own quest in a way. The idea here is to make it as difficult as possible for the other alliance to get through. Then offence starts and both alliances move through each other's defence setup to knock out opponents and earn points. You earn the most points for taking down the main boss (20,000) and you also earn points for winning fights, exploring the map as much as possible and each time a member of the other alliance dies to one of your defenders. This again is all about strategy and working together to get good rewards, you still get something for losing so it's worth trying at least. Alliances also have different events running that you can contribute to for even more rewards. All in all, alliances are a huge part of the game and you'd be missing out on a lot of stuff by not joining one.

I am playing this game for about 7 weeks. I've joined an alliance last week. I can tell you that my progress in a week is almost equal to what I did for the first 6 weeks.
If you get in a nice alliance that want to teach you how this work, you won't regret it.
For the quest and the war, unless you have a ton of good fighter, 4*+, you better keep it in the quest, it's much more fun and it teach you about the nodes connections and, most important, teamwork. Alliance is all about teamwork.
So, go ahead, post in alliance recruiting, join one and have fun.
