What champions did you use for this quest?

And as embarrassing st it sounds - what your strategy against the war machine at the first fight - who has power gain and won’t use a special until he hits special 3. I tried using a 3 star magik but he gets to 3 bars before she gets to power lock. Dr Voodoo beat him when I tried weeks ago but at 2 percent health left (and using a special 3 and then special 2s and 1s). I even tried using Luke Cage or Iceman to tank the SP3 - trouble is you are then stunned for 6 seconds and he takes away most of your health anyways.

Who did you use for him and the entire act? A lot of old posts talk about BW, SW and Dr Strange, but I’d imagine a different set would work best now

Magik, psyloke, vodoo like you said. The rewards for the difficulty are quite low, I would wait until you get a better 4 star roster to try completing it

I haven't done that fight in a very long time on my main account but will be trying it soon on my beginner account. Of course newer accounts have smaller rosters so I'd wait until you can do it reasonably easy. I was planning on using either Spiderman Stark with his taunt and power drain or Ironman IW. IMIW should keep him from his special 3 if you don't get hit as long as you keep his power control active.
