Baiting specials

Are some champions easier to bait, or is it just skill? I do great baiting wolverine, but Mordo, sometimes Hyperion, and a few others won't give it up and are killing me with the 3d specials.
If different, who are easiest, who are hardest?

True, but I'm seeing a consistent difference at medium and hard levels in arena.

It seems to vary by champion. It may also vary by special. Some champs seem to spam L1, but if you let them get to L2 or almost L3, it can be very difficult to bait.

The videos I have watched seem to agree that baiting is inconsistent. This is frustrating given the increase in power gains and unblockable special nodes from Kabam. Sometimes it feels like an almost no-win situation. You spend most of the fight dancing backward. You can't hit your opponent because you will push them to L3. If you aren't successful baiting, they will hit L3 anyway.

Adding to this the current bugs with dashing backward, blocking, and parrying, makes for an unbalanced mechanic right now.

There are some Champs that refuse to be baited. Sometimes it takes a long time, and sometimes they won't bait. The AI has an interesting style now. The response is either rapid fire and almost immediate, or they do what I call the "Surprise Attack", where they Block constantly until you're advancing. Patience would be my suggestion. Eventually they will bait if you keep your distance. Run for them as opposed to trying to attack. That way their Bar doesn't hit L3.

I find that some champs you have to be a certain distance away/to them to baitrhe special more frequently.

Also agree with what others have said on what spot bait. Take SL for instance. Sp1 he fires off pretty easy but if I get him halfway to sp2 then he seems to want to hold it until sp3 and baiting becomes a pain.

For me, I try and dash the enemy while they block, then I hold down block. When the enemy starts a heavy, I dash back and stand still. They usually do their SP3 while I stand there.

Don't try to bait in arena. They won't even use sp3 most of the time they have it
