Why doesn't the game work from South China?

Just took a business trip to Vietnam and the dreaded forever loading situation didn't happen there even once. I suspect it has something to do with Google being blocked in China or with the Great Firewall. I still need to use my slow ass VPN to get my victories to register or continue playing the game.

Again, cost me a champ in AQ today.

Is there any info about this?
