You can earn a lot more points from running 3 groups and the rewards for each war will be increased by running more groups. A few extra shards etc. It also means that 30 of you can play instead of 20. But for war seasons 3 good groups will help you to get more points and finish higher up on the leaderboard.
2 groups allows for rotations between alliance members and preserve items but from my experience 2 AW are abit more competitive and faces some semi retired beasts accounts... 2AW relies on winning more so I prefer 3 AW
We are running three groups now but that’s leaving our lower level players without good champs to do quest. Is it worth doing three if we just keep losing every other war because once we go back up to gold it gets to hard for some of our guys.
my base assumption for 2AW is to give alliance members rotation and first come first serve type of setup... biggest advantage here is to help with members who might have availability or item use issues. This really rely on everyone contributing and doing war otherwise. From what you are saying you have an unbalanced alliance with some members too weak to spread with events and AW... maybe a 2AW is better as you have suggested if you guys arent able to support 3 AW anyways
