AW DEF RANK UP: 4* Hulk ragnarok or 5* MODOK

I need to rank someone pure for aw def cause I'm still putting 4/40s in. Who do you guys think is my best option? There isn't a high ranked MODOK in my bg and I know 5*s are the future. But we also don't have a ghulk even though I know 4*s are dying.
The only thing I'd use ghulk for is the starburst nodes in rttl chapter 4, since I have blade for the dimensional beings. I also have a gwenpool and the synergy with modok isn't super good but i guess it'd be worth it. As you can see I'm really torn up between them, any advice is greatly appreciated.
EDIT: for context i play aw tier around 11-8
