So me and some officers in my alliance were discussing whether the dotted lines in the attached image count towards exploration or if it is just the nodes(dots).

Does anyone know whether they count or not?

    p.s. commonly asked question with this, portal nodes themselves count, too. but no dotted lines

    Just the nodes count for exploration. As you can see in that picture there in the bottom left, some of the paths have a node in between to close nodes while other paths don't. I'm pretty sure this is to outline different paths for people to take.
