The Sentry’s problem

I’ve been going around low end heroic finishing my 4* shard grabs with “sub optimal” versions of potentially awesome champions.
My first stop was the Sentry. He’s a complex balance of charges, combos, and stances that are all unnecessary to the limitations provided.
Simple issues that if slightly toned down would be monumentus.
1. Stance shortness. 10 hits and you reset? That means you get 1 special per stance and 5 heavies to enjoy that! The fact that only THOSE moves get stances is also a little annoying.
2. Light attack and Mediums don’t have a stance. Like if they got a bonus during his neutral starting stance he’d be one of the higher end burst champs depending how you used him
3. Lack of control. Yeah he’s a very demanding champion. Taskmaster at lease benefits in a monster Sp1 or Sp2 and AAR by being demanding of the user.
4. No utility. Even the highest end attackers in raw damage have utility. The only exception is Star Lord on the condition that you don’t count his elemental gun nor his abuse of stupid high attack as utility. However, Hyperion, CAIW, Medusa, Taskmaster, Hela, Hiemdall, Corvus… all have utility even if all Hela does is have a devastating Sp3 in LOL and Synergize with Loki.
5. Unequal stance length. The Heavy stance can stay 24/7 for all I care. It can reach a mile away, does a surprising amount of damage for such an overall bad Champion, and is FUN to use kinda like Archangel or Quake. But I feel like the Sp1 and Sp2 stances can be “once this special is used we go to the next one”
How I would fix him?
Unyielding Fortitude:
Give his basic attacks about 2/3 the attack increase as all the other stances. Increase it to 15 hits to change
Overpowering Light:
Lasts until Sp1 is used. Bonus effect of adding 10% duration and potency to Fury activated by Sp1 for each persistent charge
Steadfast approach:
Lasts for 20 hits. Overall I like this one
Absolute Strength:
Ends on Sp2 useage, overall I like this one. Upgrades Sp2 effect to armor shatter.
Relatively simple by adding an extra “intermediate” phase between the specials means he’s easier to use, his utility still sucks but as a general mixed attacker he’s not the worst thing I’ve ever tried to fix. The potential is there it’s just finding that balance

Ok what about Angela? Higher end fights especially against 6* max on some SERIOUS ISO-juice she’s really relying on those precision to help her pull through. She really needs that Sp2 when going above her weight class in terms of inflated PI
What about any mutant not named Beast or Wolverine vs the same nodes?
Just looking at AW global bleed immune how many were benched?
And imagine how many champs get hit hard vs stun immune thanks to all the new heavy attack mechanics being introduced as valuable abilities. Blade with his regen Block, GR regen, CAIW heavy, and the last goes on.
Even the greatest champs have weaknesses. Did you know Emma is a MONSTER BECAUSE OF AAR?! No. REALLY! Took domino into BIV1 Ultron… I went to see Emma. Domino’s passive AAR NEGATED INVERSION and I dashed forward into a mental blast that one shot my lucky girl 😢 (I died laughing when I realized what actually happened)
As much as I’d LOVE Sentry to be able to rip apart everyone “á la mode Hercules” but… this is MCoC. The Phoenix is a transuniversal entity inhabiting one of the 3 most gifted telepaths in the current universe and in this game needs a borderline re-work to make her good without Miss Emma holding her hand while powerless space pirate with a malfunctioning gun that even when working he doesn’t know how to use half the time is the ni-unrivaled KING (I said ni-unrivaled people. There are others of his power level but he’s the most classic/vanilla/usually most reliable one) of ALL fighters.
I’ll settle for a Sentry that likes his power bar.
We could also add a manual switch that works on a cooldown system. Some sort of useable variant of Falcon’s Recon. That way he has a backup plan but it’s still gonna stunt his useability. As it stands he’s trash and even giving him what I suggested would make him more viable by smoothing out some rough edges in terms of flow and cohesion. I’m almost certain it’d need a mini-beta test due to working out the fine details to make the “flow” fair yet firm while also tuning all the power up effects to prevent any OP-UP issues in the future. Perhaps not all the attack boosts NEED the same increase like some could be stronger or weaker depending on how easy they are to pull off. Idk I’m just frustrated that using him is an unrewarding chore and as someone who very much LOVES r4 AA, SL, and LC I can’t feasibly use them all in any scenario as they can be hard countered and that’s why you usually have multiple guys in a quest
the fact he was already modified once doesnt mean he still needs be adjusted. Along all the other champions. INstead of excluding him from the fixes, you should rather ask kabam to fix all of them included him.
What you state in the end makes no sense "you fixed it but not really, but please ditch him like those heroes you ditched in the past and please buff those heroes you ditched in the past now so that next year i ll ask again to ditch heroes that were ditched in the past at sentry time"
really lol
Unfortunately even with a "synergy buff" (I am will go insane the next time anyone thinks that is enough) it is not only a flawed concept but in reality it is half of Angela's precision and less than a third of a single Corvus mission in terms of critical damage and he NEEDS those to be as powerful as he is.
Regardless, its an ineffective boost, equivalent to applying a bandaid for decapitation, that barely benefits AEgon let alone anyone else
Maybe He will Get Buffed In 2030
Oh And By The way That Synergy With AEgon Got Nrefd
