5* Agent Venom worth past 2/5?

Hi guys, pretty solid 4* roster, beginning to build my 5* team. Still a bit weak, other than Corvus and Iceman (both at 3/5), rest (all at 2/5) is so so: Angela, Carnage, Thor Rag, Mordok (twice, no joking), Unstoppable Colossus and Cyclops. 80% of them, arena fodder.
Just opened a 5* AV, took it to 2/5. Should I keep ranking him up or save my T4CC for possible better skill champs?
If you explain your choice appreciated. Thanks!

I dont think AV is worth R3 but I have to be very careful in my rankups.

If class cats and alphas rain from the sky then maybe but for me, its top ten champs or nothing.

If you have the cats, r3 is fine.. especially if your defense in war is weak.

Angela is great, no synergy, no dupe needed. Just hits hard from the start.
New Carnage is solid, better duped though.
Mordo or modok, not sure which you meant but both are good defenders, especially at lower tiers. Same with AV.

None are really god tier, other than ice and Corvus so you may look to save for r4ing them instead.

He's a decent defender due to his tenency but other than that Its not worth it
