Hello, so here's my idea:
As a player who struggles with gold on a daily basis, I've had a neat little idea that might not necessarily resolve the gold shortage issue, but at least help with it.
So, basically you'd have a treasure chest on your profile, visible to all, and other people could donate gold. Only people on your friend list/in your alliance would be able to, your chest can hold 100k gold per week, 50k per donation, donation limit is once a week ( so one person cant fill up your chest ), chest empties into your account's treasury after each week.
Very simple, yet would aid to solve the gold issue.
