Quality of Life Change: Don't lock champs in AQ/AW from non-alliance content.

More and more content is being added to the game in addition to the regular monthly events and story mode (such as celebrity challenges, boss rushes, Ultron's Assault, etc.), and more difficulty is being added to AQ and AW. I think it no longer makes sense to lock champs in AQ and AW attack and defense (that's 11 champs!) from being able to join non-alliance content. It makes progressing extremely difficult for everyone.

In my case, I'm trying to begin Labyrinth of Legends, but when AW is on all my best champs are locked and I'm stuck.

I can understand not allowing champs in AQ to be used in AW and vise-versa, but I think alliance content and *non*-alliance content is a natural divide for allowing champs in both.

I really hope you consider this change. Thanks!

Totally agree, there is no down to this, for once please consider that most people can't spend many hours playing each day, and when Aq/aw is going on, I can't do any other hard content, so I just log in and do Aq/aw and nothing else,

Great idea, SuperSleight. I’m good with having to use a diverse amount of champs for AW and AQ, but
it’s always a bummer when you want to work on some extra non-alliance content, but can’t due to certain champs being locked into alliance content. It would be great to see the implementation of your proposal.

So my original post is about a year and a half old, and there hasn't been any change in this area yet. I know with all the recent overall game feedback trigging some much-needed evaluation, which stoked the new roadmaps being worked on now, maybe my original post can be considered. Since my post we've seen the additions of more variants, act 6 chapters, and Abyss, so there is even way more content now that we need our best champs for.

@Eternal_Tripod83 I think this is the perfect solution.
If you do all game modes you only need 16 champs in total. That is not a crazy amount of champs.
Just do the highest content (uncollected eq) on the 'rest' days.
You should be able to atleast be able to make a full functional team that is at most 1 rank lower than your highest possible ranks.

Keep aq and aw champs from each other but I don’t see why they need to be locked from solo content

Hang on demonzfyre and xnig, I got this. You should rank up more champs so you don’t rely on the same 11 champs for alliance events and solo events. There are 150+ champs in this game you don’t need the same 11 for everything. Since you posted this a year ago you should have even more champs available now, it’s not kabams fault you mismanage you’re roster. Did I do it right guys??

That view is too simplistic. It's easy to say for people with large rosters, but you're not considering all the variances that players experience at different progression levels.

And how many of those 150+ champs are actually worth ranking up? Some players are severely limited by their luck in their hero crystal pulls. Some nodes and defenders really require certain counter champs. Some quests have class or rarity gates like in the variants and act 6, and some paths beyond those gates again require certain champ counters. It also takes a lot of time to gain rank-up materials once you finally do pull useful champs.

In my case, yes my roster has improved dramatically since I first posted. It still doesn't mean I can choose to do any content whenever I want. For both AQ and AW, for the paths I'm assigned and AW defenders I need to place, also accounting for diversity within the alliance, etc, there are champs locked in there that I want to be able to use. I might only want 1 or 2 of those locked champs, I might want 5, it all depends on the content I want to tackle. At my progression level I've got a lot of act 6 to do.

There's a related issue that is also really unnecessary. I can place defenders in AW and before war starts I can use them in quests, which is good. But before placement, if any of those champs are in a quest, they can't be placed in defense. Why not? Let me place them, and whenever I finish the quest they're in, then let them be locked. Of course it could be avoided altogether if there was no AQ/AW lock-in in the first place.

Bro my whole post was sarcasm. I agree with you nothing should be locked. The only way they interfere with each other is when you need to solo and ally quest at the same time, you will have to take lesser champs into one and run the risk of dying more, so you’ll spend more money on revives. Other than that aq and aw and solo has no bearing on each other.

I agree with the original poster. This is a simple quality of life issue that doesn't need to exist. I could be doing event quest right now and actually playing the game. Instead all my champs are locked in war (putting all of my faith in this new matchmaking "fix") and aq, so my choices are do my quest run with underdeveloped champs and play so intensely (so as not to get hit just 1 time or take any precious block damage) that my eyes bleed, or do low level content on autofight (its on auto fight because the difference between heroic and master, and master to uncollected difficulties is HUGE), or grind arenas, which I personally don't enjoy.
So instead I'm just sitting in the forums posting while I wait for my energy to refill or I'm tagged in a chat room.
AQ and War having different champs? Totally fine. Otherwise no more locked champs please.
