Fire or Darkness Crystal?

What are most people going for? Fire Crystals for the shards make sence to me but obviously 4* awakening gems from the darkness crystal have thier temptations.
I am at a stage where 4 star shards are more valuable to me than 5star. What sort of 4* shard amounts have people been winning?
