Would a 4* Emma be helpful in variant?

I had thought of myself as a player who was past ranking 4*s, but am having trouble with chapter one of variant since I don't have any strong mutant or skill champs. I was able to fully explore 1.1 and I just pulled a 4* Emma, have an AG for her, would a ranked up one be useful for 1.2 and 1.3?
